Located on the Eastern foothills of Mt Stuart, Pete’s lookout consists of six separate campsites, each with a spectacular view. The panorama stretches from Cape Bowling Green, through to Castle Hill and Magnetic Island, all the way to Pallaranda and Many Peaks. Relax in the idealic open Eucalyptus forest as you enjoy the views. You will feel like you are 1000 miles away, but only have a short 25 minute drive from Townsville to get here.

Overall, this site was just what I requested (thank you). The only reason I didn't rate it on the higher end of the scale was because I don't know that many people that would tow their camper up the 4wd track to access the camp site.

Riah's Revetment
Fun 4wd to get to the destination. Very nice land and an extremely nice owner. Definitely recommend

Perfect spot to base myself while in Townsville for a few days, I stayed on the lower section and was able to get up to it in my van fine. Protected from the wind so I was able to have a campfire at night too.

Middle campsite (Ridgeline)
Really good sized campground with a clean toilet. Great views of townsville and a really nice sunrise from all the sites available. Decent little hill climb to get in but no worries if you have 4WD and a bit of momentum.

Riah's Revetment
Only stayed at the first level of camp for the night & was perfect . Wasn’t what I expected at first then when got there was so relieved 🙂. Def be staying again & hopefully feeling abit better to go for a hike up top.

Lower campsite (Ridgeline)
Top of the town
Amazing view. Defo only 4x4 up the track. We were the only people in the camp which was fantastic. Only downside is the noise from the industrial areas below was significant but we stayed on a week night so we are guessing it would be less noise over the weekend if they are shut. We would use again if we are coming through Townsville.
