Our property is located on the site of the First Kilkivan Township and was home to a gold rush in 1868 where a 73 oz nugget was discovered. Guests will have access to a portable toilet and fire pit throughout their stay. Gold is still found in and around the creek with fossicking permitted at an extra daily rate of $25 per person. As this is private property we require that all the QLD Fossicking Act rules and regulations are followed this includes having your own permit which must be supplied before fossicking is permitted. These rules include no machinery or pump operated sluices such as high banking sluices. Detectors are welcome and some great finds have been found with them including gold and coins from the 1860’s. Large groups are welcome. There are many great shaded camping spots along the creek or a large open area of about 50 acres for larger groups. There is also a year round swimming hole fed by a solar bore on the property for anyone wanting to cool down. Kids under 12 are free but if fossicking must be covered by a permit. Pets are welcome. Peaceful
Third time camping here and still love it. Good back to basics bush camping. Had a huge private spot to ourselves by the creek. Didn't want to leave. Nev is a top bloke and great to have a chat with. Enjoyed the panning and found some gold. Will definitely keep returning!

Camping with exploration
Piece and quiet, small number of campers area, 2 others on our weekend. 1.5km of creek to explore and fossick. Kids took push bikes and did some exploring. Fresh running water on most of the creek, supplied fro a bore by Neville, so always running creek. Fossicking was fun, found specks, just sitting in running water was nice. This was our second trip, We will be planning a third for sure, we found another nice spot on the creek, we would like our next campsite to be. Neville is always friendly to chat to and happy to suggest places to checkout. Thanx Neville, we had an awesome adventure.
