Family-friendly
Recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp is great for families and kids.
Nestled alongside the waters of Curra Creek, Macallon Farm is located just outside of Gympie, its a 40 acre property which hosts the farm stay experience with a difference. We offer private camp sites, beautiful hilltop views or more creek sites. Plenty of options and levels of Privacy if that's what you require. We offer Glamping in Bell Tents, a comfortable bed may be your style, or bring your own camp setup and enjoy the beautiful location your own way. Our camp sites are nice and flat. Take a guided tour to meet and get up close to some of the unique friendly farm animals. We have Alpacas, Llamas, Camels and Donkeys just to name a few. We have a working farm full of animals to enjoy, for the kids to pat and interact with. Jump aboard the 4pm little train to feed the animals. Relaxing by the creek, or take in the great views from the top of the hill, each site has many things to offer. This will be the holiday the kids will want to come back to. Just 17km to the nearest supermarkets, 11 km to fuel and bottleshop for last minute supplies. Amenities include: Flushing Portable toilets just a short walk from your camp. Hot shower in the Outdoor Bush Shower. Attractions close by. * Gympie's Historical Steam train " The Mary Valley Rattler" does trips on Wednesday, Saturday and Sundays. * Historical Theebine Hotel is just 22km away and does a great meal. * Dickabram Bridge is 25km away. It is the oldest remaining large steel truss bridge constructed in Queensland. Or just take a quiet stroll observing the sights and sounds of the natural wildlife. I purchased the farm in 2015 with my children to build a dream, a lifestyle I'm passionate about, one I could share with my family. I was raised on the land and respect and follow sustainable farming practices here on Macallon Farm.

Creekside Motorhome site
Great spot for camping. Michelle was very generous of her time with the kids, showing them around the herds of llamas, alpacas, donkeys and camels.

Creekside Caravan site
We chose to come here for our first camping trip with two young children and so happy we did. My 6 year old is such an anxious kid but thanks to Michelle’s amazing sons he managed to step outside his comfort zone and feed the animals while happily interacting with the other kids. Loved our campsite, whole property was well kept.

Curra Creek Open Paddock
Michelle was lovely and there was lots to spark joy for kids (dam, donkeys, camels, llamas). The farm is very pretty with a creek running through. It was a busy weekend and the place was jam packed. It was not the quiet hipcamp vibe I'd hoped for. Our spot had a slope that proved annoying. Michelle has plans to level it so check before booking.
