Lake Atkinson Waterfront Camping & Animal Farm offers a family orientated, quiet rural escape for over night or short term stays. We have powered and unpowered camp sites available with glamping tents coming soon! We welcome guests in camping tents, caravans, and camper trailers. We have an animal nursery where the kids can meet and feed the animals, bike tracks, walking trails and seasonal water sports for all our guests to enjoy. Full amenities available and campfires are welcome in the fire pits provided. Pets are welcome but please keep them under control and respect other campers. You can purchase wood-fired pizzas which we can deliver directly to your site! We are located just a 1 hour drive from Brisbane city. With access to our pool and animal farm the fun never ends! If you are after a quiet weekend away with the kids or long term accommodation we are the perfect place for you! There is a kiosk and cafe on site where you can find all your basic camping items.

Great location
We got a spot right down past the animals and it was nice and quiet! Kids loved the swimming pool. Very accommodating people. Will be back!

There Is Water, But Not Much Else.
I’d like to begin by thanking Doug, who generously offered us the use of his personal washing machine after discovering the public machines weren’t working. Unfortunately, this was one of the few positives of our stay. The public washing machines were filled with dirty water and didn’t function properly. The toilets were unclean and lacked toilet paper, and the showers were poorly maintained with some doors not locking, making them difficult to use—especially with unreliable hot water. The site itself was sloping, and we had to place chocks under our caravan legs to get it even remotely level. The buildings were run-down, with scrap metal and random items scattered across the property. While the dam was a nice feature, the cost of staying here didn’t feel justified. After giving it a full 7-night stay, I wouldn’t return unless you’re only interested in the water and can overlook the poor condition of the amenities and atmosphere.

The area is beautiful and picturesque but unfortunately the amenities are way under par. A new amenities block and a definitive boundary between the permanent residents of the park and the camping area would provide extra feeling of security

Such great open spaces and nicely spread out in the powered section (where we stayed), lovely water views, easy check in and friendly staff :) Would love to come back with a big group, would spread out nicely and be a good time

Hostile Residents
Host was friendly and helpful, we had no issues at all with the host. If I had read the reviews before booking I would have known that the resort is quite run down and one half of it is for permanent residents with at least some of them being parolies from the prison near by. Some of the "permanent residents" are hostile, one particular resident kept walking back and forth past our camp-site with a metal pipe making threats. I would never take children to this camp ground, the people living there are not safe. There are no water hook ups on the powered sites either and no where to dump garbage. The resort has a lot of potential but needs a ton of work
