Platypus claims are real.❤️
Just spent a week at this fabulous slither of paradise. So relaxing and quiet, just what we needed. The facilities are kept very clean. The highlight was watching the platypus playing in the creek. Well worth the early morning rises and the sitting completely still watching the water. We will be back.

Quiet and Empty
Plenty of space and only 1 other group there all weekend.
Upside > Walk to the creek, kayaks provided, Walk to the pub, super quiet. only 1 house on the other side of the creek. clean shower and toilet block.
Farm animals for the kids, plenty of open space for a game of cricket
Downside > Overhead powerlines (but don't notice them at night), hot water wasn't working.

Kandanga Creek Quietness
A lovely alternative camping area - very quiet, private and very few (relatively) campers permitted at one time, so if you like privacy - this is a nice bet.
2 flush toilets - with potable water - there are showers but water stream is sparse and not that warm when it’s 6C out - won’t be an issue wen it’s 15c +
We prefer our Joolca but nice to know back up mini shower there is required.
Owners are stunning people and loved check g out/petting the sheep/goats on our way out.
Close to Gympie - Brooyar and Tinberwah - puts you in the middle of the climbing action.

Drover’s Flat 1
Drovers Flat was a beautiful quiet place to camp in winter with the morning sun shining on our backs at breakfast as we watched the over 30 bird species going about their morning routines along the creek bank. Add to this the unforgettable experience of Kayaking along the most most beautiful, quiet creek and watching the platypus play. The only down side were the showers - luke warm at the most for 10 secs at a time before the cold hit again - very disappointing.
Lots to do nearby - Mary Valley Rail Trail at the lovely village of Imbil is just nearby as are the walks near Amamoor.
