Beautiful Imrie Creek Camp is a secluded and well provisioned site located beside a permanent creek and surrounded by farmland and rainforest. Enjoy serenity, peace and the natural habitat as the only camper on the 4 acre property at any time (only 1 booking at once). This quality site has a new composting toilet, a great fire pit, a picnic table and chairs, a flood light, water (non-potable) and power for a van to ensure a comfortable stay. You can see in the pics, that the site is very close to beautiful Lake Eacham, a crater lake surrounded by rainforest. The lake is great for swimming, paddle boarding and canoeing and there is a very doable 3+km walk around it. It is also a 10 minute drive to the heritage village of Yungaburra where you can pop in for a great coffee, food and supplies. There are platypus in the creek and are sometimes spotted. During the wet season, we recommend accessing the property with a 4WD as at times it can be slippery getting back up the hill. If you're seeking a 'Magic Faraway Tree’ experience, this is it. Watch closely and you may see the fairies that come out at night 🧚‍♀️🧚🏻‍♂️ and on a clear eve, the stars ⭐️ 🙂.Beautiful Imrie Creek Camp is a secluded and well provisioned site located beside a permanent creek and hugged by farmland and rainforest. Imrie Creek Faraway Camp
The campsite itself is quite picturesque, on the banks of the creek with a lovely fire pit , picnic area and quite fancy loo which is a bonus. Our first night was enjoyable but it went downhill after that on account of the weather . As the campsite is on the creek you have to drive down a sloping block which when wet is exceptionally difficult to get out of , and despite us having only a small camper trailer and a 4WD we had to get assistance to help us get out as otherwise we could have been stuck for quite some time in the red mud. I would not recommend staying there until the driveway is sorted as it was a really stressful time to get our vehicle and camper out . Either that or only stay there if you can guarantee sunshine, which in far NQ is not feasible. Looks really pretty but unfortunately can’t recommend due to the red mud experience

Peace and beauty
This place is value for money and a true beauty. There are facilities if you need them, as other reviews have commented, and are all exceptional. It is also quiet and if you set up your camp so it blocks the view up the hill you feel like you are completely away from the neighbors blocks, and the Neighbors were quiet and in no way imposed on what was a mostly secluded spot which is what I was hoping for. Andrea is prompt to reply to messages and friendly. We saw a kangaroo, many birds, some Cows, ducks, a big water lizard and some fire flies ✨

Imrie Creek Faraway Camp
Private camp with facilities close to Lake Eacham NP. The Good: Composting toilet, tap with creek water, power outlet, overhead light, and spacious campfire area. The Not So Good: No easy / safe creek access despite being right next to it. (Luckily the creek didn't look appealing to swim in). Loud traffic noise from main road. Old star-picket stumps (creekside) with sharp points - one went through my shoe and almost through my foot! Verdict: This camp has potential but is not 'faraway' enough, situated amongst rural blocks, next to a stagnant-looking creek. Given the price and location, try Lake Eacham Tourist and Van Park.

Imrie Creek Faraway Camp
This is a beautifully maintained and well provisioned camp site. Unfortunately it was a bit tight on either side to property borders and peoples houses, so there was little room for the kids to wander off and explore (which as parents is what we love about camping!). Also the creek was inaccessible as it was a very steep bank covered in overgrown vines. But it is nice and close to Eacham, so if you're happy to go there for your day, it works well.
