Our names are Chris and Christine. We recently moved to Gundiah Qld and acquired a beautiful piece of land (approx. 320 acres) with about 70 acres of picturesque camping located on the Mary River. Our property is located halfway between Gympie and Maryborough (approx. 20 minutes from the Bruce Highway) tucked away down a private road which is lovely and peaceful. We have some walking trails located on the Camp Grounds to take in the scenery, or for the more adventurous located behind the office are longer walking trails with spectacular views at the top. There is a bike track and playground with Mini Putt Putt to keep the kids amused! Currently an RC track in the making for the remote 4WD enthusiasts. Easy access to the Mary River if you would like a spot of fishing, swimming or kayaking. Keep your eye out for the platypus and Mary River Turtles. We also have fire pits available at most sites with plenty of free firewood to collect around the property. Your fury friends are more than welcome but for the safety of them and others must be on a lead at all times. We are located about 50 minutes from Gympie, an hour 15 minutes from Rainbow Beach and or Hervey Bay and 45 minutes from Maryborough. The town of Tiaro is only 15 minutes down the road which has a Foodworks, Pub, United Fuel and Cafe. Don't forget the local Gundy Pub is only 5 minutes down the road. Great atmosphere and meals "tell them we sent you". Gundy Getaway is the perfect place to get back to basics and enjoy the peace and serenity.

Spent a great 2 days at Gundy Getaway. Had the hole place to ourself. Kayaked up the Mary river and had a swim. Toilets very clean and tidy. Very peaceful. Lovely hosts. Dog Friendly. Saw some cows and kangaroos. Saw fish in river. Great place to get away and refresh at.

Great Place!!
Great location and outlook! There's plenty of room for groups or more secluded spots if you wish to hide away. The access to the Mary River is good, and you can swim or fish there, or splash in the rapids. Portable toilets are dotted around the area, and I saw (but didn't use) a hot shower cubicle. If you want to go for a walk there is a nice trail around the back of the property, or you can hike up the vehicle trail (some steep switchback sections) to the top of the escarpment for a very nice view. Fire places are plentiful, as is firewood, however, you may need to cut it up (so make sure you bring some appropriate tools). My dog really enjoyed his time, and even met some cattle for the first time (he did get a bit scarred when one cow poked her toungue out to lick her nostril!) I WILL be back!!!

Fantastic spot
We thoroughly enjoyed camping here. A huge place with very few campers, the second night we had the whole place to ourselves. Very quiet and relaxing, the river was lovely for many swims. Highly recommend bringing kayaks or paddle boards, we paddled for hours! We also brought rods and caught a few fish too. Would go back :)

Peaceful
Peaceful, great to get into the Mary River, able to sit around a fire, and always handy having facilities close by. Also good to pop off to the Gundy Pub for a great dinner when you don't want to cook.

Great place to camp at Gundy Getaway, peaceful camping under the trees and on a well maintained camp ground overlooking the Mary River. Hosts Chris and Christine are lovely people and are happy to share any info on the area. Keen to do another couple of days there again soon.
