We welcome you to our peaceful farm retreat. Each site has lots of room and a fire pit, there is potable water available and porta loos, shower too made out of a horse float, which is for guests who are not self-contained. Have a look though it is quite cute. We have 7 gorgeous Scottish Highlands, the Scottish folk pronounce it "Heilen Coos" so that's how we say it, I'm not spelling it wrong 🤩😆You'll meet Kelvin the Scottish Highland Bull, Oakley her calf Lucy, Willow and her calf Ferdinand (Ferdi), and our new additions Dusty and Maddi, they can be both fun and relaxing to watch doing zoomies around the yard, swimming in the dam or chilling under a tree 😁 Keep in mind from December to March we have hot, rainy summers. For the adventurous campers who use swags/tents, we suggest a stretcher and a gazebo with walls for a little comfort. Some areas need 4wd also. Check in is after 1pm and check out is strictly before 10.30am, we promise you will get your 'Heilen Coo' fix 😝 We have Souvineers and firewood please bring cash 😍 Be mindful around all animals as they get to know you, be smart please. Kids can bring bikes, must be supervised at all times, no screaming or running. Pets are welcome, we have 2 dogs Jesse and Cane, who are both very friendly. Our Maremma is an Italian breed of livestock gaurdian dog, he does bark a little at night to protect our pets, which goes hand in hand with all of our other farm noises 😉 Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. It's totally safe. Feel free to put on some music and have a few drinks by the campfire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed, so we do not accommodate noisy parties. Relax and unwind with a book or go for a bush walk and listen to the kookaburras. Watch Sea Eagles, pelican, wild budgies, rainbow lorikeet and more. All your cares will feel like they are a million miles away as you soak up nature, we guarantee you will have an amazing experience. 6 Kms in at our historic Childers there is a Woolworths, IGA, great pubs for lunch, cafes and bakeries, plus a swimming pool, museum, snakes down under and Woodgate beach 25 mins away.

Lucy's site

We loved our time visiting Gumtree Dam. Chrissy and Duane were great host. It was so relaxing and we loved all the animal. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves animals. Chrissy and Duane were so helpful and were happy to share their knowledge on the Highland Cows.

Cane's Cabin

An experience to remember

I loved every bit of staying at Gumtree Dam Highlands! Cane's cabin was absoluetly perfect. Chrissy & Duane were awesome, super friendly and helpful, they both made you feel right at home. The coo's WOW, absolute beauties the lot of them! Will be back for sure and will be recommending to others looking for places to camp.

Yellowstone

Camping with coos.we had a terrific

We loved staying at Yellowstone for the 3 nights we were there,just wasn't longenough for us to get our coo fix, it was great the animals just roaming around the property unfazed by guests. Loved how Jesse and cane would just come and say hello hang out for a bit then go. As much as we were there for the coos the little animals were a hit for for our daughter.

We loved the property and all the animals Duane was kind enough to let our kids and myself nurse the lamb. The environment was very friendly and family oriented. Chrissy and Duane are beautiful people. Look forward to coming back soon

We camped by the dam in our swag while listening to the the soft lull of country music, birdlife and the occasional sheep or "coos" in the background. In the afternoon we enjoyed the feeding of the "coos", although judging by their faces, the "coos" loved it more. Come nightfall, we enjoyed the Serenity of sitting back by the flickering fire......even Jesse and Cane (the dogs) came to nestle in with us for the night and give their tick of approval to our camp fire jaffles. We thought we were just going for the night but a piece of my heart got stolen from "Dusty" (my favourite coo). He now has his own photo reel on our instragram page. 😍 ...but dont tell my partner...but then again he knows me all too well. 🤣 A shout out to Duane who was very hospitable to us both. We highly recommend and will be back again.

Willow's site

A great property. Far enough away from other campers. My dog loved walking around and playing in the mud down the back of the property. The animals were so cute and fun to watch.
