Welcome to Barcy! Looking for a campsite where you can camp on your own or with just your friends? Want to learn more about wool growing and sheep grazing businesses? Want to see wildlife (emus, brolgas, kangaroos including the red kangaroo, eagles, echidnas) and livestock in their paddocks? Consider the self-drive tour. Walk the pet, light a fire at night and let the kids explore. Several sites have hot water for open air baths or tubs. Dunblane is a wool sheep grazing property located just off the Landsborough (Matilda) Highway 8km west of Barcaldine. We welcome guests and we're happy to share our place with others. Only one booking allowed at each site so you will have the site to yourself, although you are able to book for friends. Pull in, light a fire, watch for falling stars, walk the dog and let the kids explore. Check the sunsets that never fail. Amenities depend on the site booked - check the options listed. Kids under 15 stay free! Dog friendly.

Westbourne Shearing Shed
An Amazing Experience
An amazing experience filled with beauty, information and solitude. David was spot on with information and instructions. The Sunset in the spring baths, coupled with Sunrise the watertank were worth it on their own. Our camp fire also added to our setting. We also loved access to the shearing shed and reading about history and the industry. Had the option to use power & water but went with what we had. Take the opportunity if available.

Coolibah Waterhole in Strip Paddock
Disappointing in the dry season
This campsite is probably fantastic in autumn or spring, when there is some water in the billabong, but our experience, in winter was disappointing and depressing. Not only was the waterhole dry, but there was subsequently very little wildlife, or farm animals visiting. We saw 4 emu, a couple of roos and 3 sheep.. almost no bird life. There was a drop toilet, with the door removed and smashed, and a table made out of a pellet. Remains of fires lit in the dry waterhole. Otherwise we were camped on a dry, flat paddock in the dust. Directions to the site were very good but the gateways were quite narrow for our large van. Very peaceful though and the night sky was amazing. We felt we could have found a better free camp without paying to stay in these conditions and we actually left after one night and forfeited the remaining night we paid for. It was the opposite of the promotional pictures. Would have been good if there was at least an artesian bath as a consolation..

Gretel Cattle Yards
Great spot. Only ones there, firewood provided, big warm bath, stock and wildlife for kids to look at. I can’t see how it gets better

Billy Goat Central
What a great place to stay. Great directions, plenty of space. Nice to be somewhere on our own and we loved the big bath. David was great with responding to messages. Thanks for sharing your property with us!

Gretel Cattle Yards
We enjoyed Gretel cattleyards campsite. Felt remote. See the horizon in every direction. The hot tub was a lot fun. Communication with David was good. Toilet could do with a door
