Situated in the heritage town of Maryborough, the Doon Villa Self-Contained RV Park is one of the highest rating parks on WikiCamps, catering for in excess of 20,000 RV's over the last 7 years. The park has the capacity to host up to 50 RV's with a maximum 7 day stay. PRICE PER NIGHT DOES NOT INCLUDE HIPCAMP FEES. PLEASE NOTE, Council regulations stipulate you MUST be a FULLY SELF-CONTAINED caravan or motorhome with INTERNAL PLUMBED TOILET and SHOWER) (porta- potty's not accepted). Grey water must be contained onboard, or in a bucket and disposed of at the dump point. The park cannot accept bookings for tents, swags, roof top tents, camper trailers or car-based camping. Fines apply if non-compliant!!!!!!!!!!. Dump point and water point are next to the park and all grey water must be contained and disposed of in the dump point. The park is a large open area with no designated sites, so please feel free to find a suitable spot-on arrival. Due to the firm ground the park is ideal for big rigs even in the wettest of weather. The RV Park is approx. 1.8km to the city centre, walking distance of a takeaway shop with a petrol station in close proximity. The park is managed by the Doon Villa Football Club which is situated directly beside the RV Park. The club often hosts home games at our facilities during the football season which will provide entertainment and canteen facilities to any campers looking for some entertainment. With a population of approximately 19000 this small town is bursting with plenty to see and do. Hervey Bay is only a half an hour drive from Maryborough and it the gateway to the beautiful Fraser Island. The city of Maryborough is most commonly known as the birth place of the famous Author of the Mary Poppins, Pamela Travers and offers great tour opportunities. The CBD hosts a weekly markets on a Thursday morning that offers great stalls in the town centre. With numerous coffee shops and convenience stores it is a great place to stop for a few days to relax and unwind.Large grassed flat area with ample room, with some tree coverage. Some of the sites offer drive through camp areas with multiple spots to choose from with up to 50 sites on offer. The ground is firm and is ideal for big rigs, even during rain events.

Great Hipcamp option in Maryborough
I can recommend the site for its location, cleanliness, space, peace and quiet. Didn't use amenities as the keypad was unreadable. You really need to be self-contained. Don't be put off as it is still good value for the money but there is inequity with payments. You are required to book via Hipcamp, all fine by us but there are fees associated with that that increase the nightly rate to over $12. Us Hipcampers get that. But some people show up and don't use Hipcamp, and presumably just paid the $10 cash when asked by the volunteer. Also a rooftop tent parked next to us after hours and left early - NOT ON! So you can do the right thing but pay more than others will. Also the Hipcamp instructions need to be clearer about where to park. We goofed that up and had to move. But again, don't be put off as it's still the best value in Maryborough. Dogs welcome too.

A nice quiet campground
A great place to stop over for a few days, large open grassy area off the highway with potable water, dump point near by . Must be fully self contained but there is a shower and toilet a short walk away. $10/ day collected each night by foot ball club staff who maintain the area. PS. ( you don’t have to pay on Hip Camp as the sign tells you ) Enjoyed our stay, thanks

Great Campground
Fantastic campground, large & nice green grassed area with more than enough space to fit 50 caravans. The amenities building is a short walk which is clean with hot & cold shower. Would stay again when over this way again, campground is run well by Rebecca.

Hosts were great . Expensive camping for us with a fully self contained motorhome. We used no electricity or water and had our own toilet so the patch of grass was overpriced. To top it off, one of our camping friends were bitten by a catfish resulting in a number of puncture wounds. I don't think we will be back.
