Our property is roughly 80 acres of secluded land situated on the outskirts of Rockhampton. Only a 5 minute drive to the Gracemere shopping centre, and less than 10 minutes to Rockhampton. We currently utilise part of the land to grow hay under irrigation, with plans for expansion in the future. Deadman's Lagoon is a large freshwater lagoon situated in the centre of the property. It is perfect for swimming, fishing, boating and kayaking. It is a permanent lagoon, however water levels are affected by the amount of local rainfall and are naturally lower in the winter months. Camp along the bank of the lagoon dotted with gum trees, or choose a wide open space in the paddock. Bird life including pelicans, black swans, bustards, ducks and egrets are frequently spotted enjoying the water. Campfires are allowed as per local regulations. You will have plenty of privacy as there is no residence on the farm, and the neighbours are some distance away. You may notice us coming throughout the day to move the irrigator on the hay field, and often there is tractor work and general farm maintenance to be done. We ask that guests stay out of our paddocks and only drive on the road to and from the campground. We'll often drop in to camp to say hello or stock up firewood if we are able. Campers must be fully self-contained as no facilities or drinking water are available on the property. You are responsible for taking any and all rubbish with you when you leave. Dumping of toilets and human waste on the property is strictly prohibited. There is a free dump point located at Nuttall St in Rockhampton. We can accommodate for up to 6 caravans/campers at a time spread out over our campground area which is roughly 5 acres. You are welcome to set up wherever you like within our campground, whether it be along the bank of the lagoon or in the paddock. Please be respectful of others' space when deciding where to set up your camp. Dogs welcome, we just ask that you clean up after them so that the campsite remains clean for other campers to enjoy. Please ensure that you can secure your dogs if needed, as other campers may also have dogs. ***NEW*** We have set up a dog pen at the campgrounds for your convenience. The roads on the property can become boggy in wet weather, and in the case of excessive rainfall we may need to cancel your booking (refund provided in this case).Enjoy camping on the banks and surrounding grassy paddocks of Deadman's Lagoon. There is ample bird and fish life, and the lagoon is ideal for water activities such as swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking. You are welcome to choose your own spot within the campground, but please be respectful of others' space when setting up camp. Please note that access to the campground may become difficult in wet weather. I will advise prior to your stay if the campgrounds are too wet to access and may have to cancel your booking in the event of excessive rainfall.

Deadman's Lagoon Campground
Beautiful spot. Sunrise was spectacular over the small lake. Very close to nature. Birds everywhere making for a beautiful morning chorus. However, the mosquitos were insane. Camping next to marshes this should have been obvious and perhaps this is seasonal (visited Sep). Also, as others have mentioned, the ground is uneven and could use a screed. We searched around for a few minutes and found a place near the big tree for the swag and managed a restful night's sleep.

Deadman's Lagoon Campground
Loved it!
We spent the night at deadman’s lagoon & it was great. We have a roof top tent. Wouldn’t recommend if tent camping as the ground is uneven. But it was stunning views and a nice place to spend the night! Also be on the lookout for the neighbours horses. They pop out of the bushes :)

Deadman's Lagoon Campground
It was very peaceful and convenient. The only thing was that the ground was very uneven. Otherwise everything was great. We would definitely come back.
