CHECK IN TIMES 10am to 12pm Closed for lunch 2pm to 5.30 (NB: no late check ins) Please ensure you are able to be here by 5.30pm, we will not accept check ins after this time. Check out times. 10 am - unless advised. The Chookhouse is situated approximately 20 minutes south of Toowoomba on 23 acres. Please note that there are other dogs and animals long our road. We also have grain trains that pass by throughout the day and night. When you are travelling on Shepperd Road look for our "Chookhouse Farm" sign and a chook mailbox, that is the driveway you need to take. LONG TERM RENTALS We can also accommodate long term rentals. Please contact us for further information. If possible, we would prefer self-contained set ups; however not essential. AMENITIES Uni-sex amenity block with hot water and flushing toilets for those booked in Pepperina. Top Paddock power, Top Paddock unpowered and Paddock Camp we have gas showers (preset temperature for the safety of children). It will not be a hot shower like you have at home, however you will get clean. There are also pit toilets in the camp areas. In each camp area we have 3 x rubbish bins. PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT HAVE DRINKING WATER AVAILABLE. WE DO NOT HAVE WATER TO FILL YOUR CARAVAN. Plenty of room for self-contained caravans/motorhomes and places to pitch a tent or camper. National Parks, walking trails, Wineries, Gourmet Pubs and Restaurants, Markets, two magnificent parks with play areas for children and so many other points of interest to see and discover. So many animals here! You get to meet camels, cows, pigs, alpacas, Boer goats Dorper Sheep, a multitude of chickens, geese, peacocks and guinea fowl. Miss Piggy loves posing for the camera. Sit under the stars and toast your marshmallows by your fire pit. Safe place to leave your gear while out exploring the Darling Downs and surrounds. Being in a rural area we have strict guidelines for campfires. We follow all Local Government guidelines and the QFS. No blazing fires, all fires to be extinguished at night, no coals or ash to be left under trees or on the grass. We will pick up each morning coals and ash if required. Fantastic farm stay! It was fun to see all the animals about and wake up to the peacocks wandering around our site. Easy to find and totally stress free. Thank you for having us.

Not good value
This is really overpriced for the offering. The grassy field is nice enough but you are camped right by the road. The shower is very dirty and the battery was dead so couldn’t be used. One pit toilet. Not good value.

Site 3 - Paddock Camp
Rob was a fantastic host. I arrived after the animals were fed but he still showed me them. There are lovely camels you can feed and peacocks come right up to your camp site. Will be back for sure. Thanks Rob

Site 6 - Paddock Camp
Farm camping.
While yes the amenities are very basic (all mentioned in the description), and there is traffic noise. The sites are nice and roomy, the shower was still nice and warm. The animals are a bit of fun for the kids and the host is a really nice person and super helpful.

Needs an update desperately
We had plenty of space and a peaceful stay but the amenities leave a lot to be desired. I wouldn’t go there unless you had your own toilet/shower. Lots of different animals so children would really enjoy it and the peacocks walking around was a highlight.
