Blue Tree Campground is an off-grid escape, just a breezy 12km drive west of the charming township of Sarina. Nestled amidst nature's embrace, the campground sits alongside a tree-lined, freshwater creek - fantastic for swimming and exploring in the wet season! Be enchanted by the abundance of bird life, the mesmerising blue-forest kingfisher, and glimpse the striking Ulysses butterfly, while chilled wallabies graze close by. Each campsite boasts its own fire pit for memorable gatherings under the stars or there's a central fire pit for get-togethers. We're basically 'off-grid', with only the occasional bar or two of phone service, so bring your music or movie downloads or simply watch the Aussie Bush TV (camp fire.) Help yourself to the bush lemons, the trees are plentiful.... in season from around May. We have capped camping sites at only 10 spots, only for fully self-contained vehicles at this stage (under council guidelines) allowing our guests peace to enjoy nature at its finest. Book today to secure your stay.... nature and tranquillity await! Contact us via HipCamp messages or by messenger from our Facebook page.... www.facebook.com/blue.tree.campground See you soon… Carolyn and RobBlue Tree Campers have access to their own fire pit, grassy flat, Flintstone seat and each space has a creek view. Camp Kitchen with running water and BBQ available to cook, relax or socialise in. [PLEASE NOTE: the facilities are temporarily closed due to local council red tape - only fully self contained vehicles are permitted at the present moment.] Blue Tree is home to the magnificent Ulysses butterfly and many of our visitors come to this pretty spot to see their iridescent blue wings in flight. There's plenty of birdlife and wallabies and kangaroos abound. Explore the shady, tree-lined creek and enjoy the crystal clear stars at night as you sit around the fireplace. Beautiful, juicy Bush Lemon trees to help yourselves. Every now and then we come across mobile phone service but we are primarily off-grid. The creek has water all year round, some months are better than others for swimming. There are walking tracks to discover and surprises along the way, plus there's a rope swing or two hanging around for the kids.

Blue Tree Campground
Carolyn was very accommodating with a request I made. We will definitely stay there again, hopefully when it is just after heaps of rain for the beautiful creek. Location was easy to access. There was 3 other sites taken but we still had lots of room and privacy. We didn't need it but the toilet and camp kitchen is great. No phone reception but we went about 2km up road to check phones. We will be telling all our camping group. Thank you Carolyn and Rob for sharing your property.

Piece of paradise
This little slice of paradise is so close to Mackay, but when you get there you feel so far from the hustle and bustle of city life. The camp kitchen/bar is a great place for groups to congregate for a BBQ and a drink, or for the kids to play in the kids play kitchen area. The place was clean and well presented. The sites are spacious and have a nice fire place and log bench at each site. Although the creek was running, the kids found a water hole and had an absolute ball in it. It is really peaceful and relaxing and we will be back for sure.

Piece of paradise
An excellent place to escape from the daily grind hustle and bustle of the city. It is so close to Mackay and yet so far from everything when you are there. The camp kitchen/bar is a great place for groups to congregate and for the kids to play in the kids play kitchen. Although the creek was not flowing, the kids found a water hole and had a ball. The hosts were great and super friendly. We will definitely be going back. Thanks Rob

Blue Tree = Serenity!
I had a lovely few nights at Blue Tree. The directions to the property were simple and clear. The camping area is beautifully maintained, with benches and firepits for each site. I can't believe it was school holidays and we had the place to ourselves! It was fun to have the cows and horses wander past and plenty of wallabies and scrub turkeys. Thanks!
