Elevated Campsite with 4 person hub tent above a beautiful creek, firepit, grill and friendly goats. Don't be disturbed by the sound of moving water where wild mink, raccoon, foxes and deer play. Relax on the dock at the pond on the property. Unique plants abound. Majestic creekside views of small outcropping cliffs and enjoy its own swimming hole. The Creekside retreat is part of the 17 acre 1842 estate and original farm which is perched on the now abandoned road which led to Fort Northkill a century ago. You are nearby to hiking on the Appalachian trail, biking or boating at Blue Marsh Lake and Beach or tubing on the Schuylkill River and riding or hiking trail, visit mountain Biking Meccas of : Mt Penn, Blue Marsh Lake, Swatara State Park and Trexlertown. The Reading Railroad Museum, Pagoda, Stokesay Castle , Hawk Mountain, Knoebels and Hershey Parks all located from 10 minutes to under an hour from your campsite. 3000 Blackberry Plants fruit each year as well as Peaches, Nectarines and Pears. Picking available by arrangement. Many Local Wineries nearby, Although the tents' label and description are calculated as 4 person, it seems as though 4 persons would be tight in this 8 x 8 interior and 2 or 2 and youngster would be more comfortable..Creekside Elevated Treehouse style campsite is equipped with an 8Ft x 8Ft tent with lighted canopy with a fantastic view of the creek and it's running waters. Large stone outcropping cliff meets water's edge. Picnic table, and firepit with grilltop. Authentic communal outhouse is approximately 40 ft away. Pond and paddleboat are a short walk away. Friendly goats roam free [4] per this 17 acre retreat, but your tent and platform are above any of their shenanigans. The creek has been a natural home for wild Mink, Foxes, raccoon, Owl, Red Tailed Hawk and Bald Eagle. Tent is equipped with 2 twin size air mattresses battery powered light, canopy lights, fan, and [small propane/12 volt fridge but guests will have to provide either the 12v or propane. The host's were wonderful! They showed us to the site and when the provided wagon was malfunctioning made sure to have it fixed in time for us to check out. It was a very private setting with beautiful views. The creek was peaceful to be next to and there wasn't even many bugs! The swimming hole was wonderful to take a dip in too. The tent had lights for the stairs, one in it, and they provided a fan and air mattresses! Would absolutely stay here again! The goats were curious and friendly!

Cool site with goats
This was a really cool experience for my boys and I. The site may not be the right fit for everyone (I’ll put a few notes below), but we had a great time and my boys will remember it! Pros: - The goats are very friendly without being overbearing, my boys hung out with them a lot and they were totally gentle. - The creek is beautiful and right at the site, we caught a ton of crayfish! - The tent was well set up on the platform and clean. There were lights, a fan, and comfy air mattresses already set up for us. - it was very private with plenty of room to run around and explore - owners provided firewood at our site. - owners were super nice and great communication Cons: - The walk to the site is a Lot. Thankfully the owners provided a wagon, but it was still really hard to pull all the gear through the field and up the hill on the way back. Pack light, and then get rid of 5 more things. This was way different from car camping so make sure you are in good shape to haul gear. - The site is gorgeous, but there is a dairy farm across the creek. It smelled like a farm and there was a constant humming/occasional banging from the machinery. Super private but not quiet. - good well water is available, but the pump is up by the car. Bring your own bottled water or containers to haul water to the site. We had a great time, but like I said it’s not for everyone. If you can do a more rustic/backpacking style trip you’ll enjoy the novelty and privacy.

Camping here was so much fun! The tent was roomy with 2 nice air mattresses and a fan. The fire grill was perfect for cooking on and having a quiet night listening to the creek. Definitely would recommend a stay here.

It was my second stay here and it just as wonderful as the first! The hosts are so lovely and my two pups had such a wonderful time running around and swimming in the creek. We'll certainly be back!
