16 acres of woods right along the bend of the Allegheny River at Kennerdell, PA are yours to enjoy! We have the best of both worlds- a secluded spot for campfires, hammocks, and hiking, or head down to the river to hang out by the water or kayak! Walk across the bridge to check out great trails in Clear Creek State Forest or drive a few miles Emlenton, Foxburg or Franklin for breweries, wineries, and bike trails. Our favorites: Emlenton- 12 miles: Emlenton Brewhaus, Blue Collar Tavern, Little IT Deli, Allegheny River Bike Trail access Foxburg-16 miles: Foxburg Pizza, Foxburg Wine Cellars, Allegheny Grille, Allegheny River Bike Trail access Franklin- 19 miles: Trails to Ales Brewery,Vino and Vibes, Allegheny River Bike Trail access Pick up the Allegheny River Bike Trail at the end of South Tunnel Rd, about 2 miles down from our location. Sites down at the river are on the flood plain. Setups here are not permanent due to uncertain river heights. Forest sites are uphill. River is accessible with a half mile walk/drive down our drive or via hill stairs. Cell phone service is weak to nonexistent in much of the property, so be prepared to go offline and relax! The Riverfront Campsite is one of our favorite views of the river.  Enjoy being down among the giant sycamores and silver maples as you pitch your tent, have a beach fire, or swing in a hammock next to the Allegheny River. Enjoy this private campsite to fish or rent a kayak to float downstream.  Take a short walk across the Kennerdell Bridge to explore the nearby trails in Clear Creek State Forest.   On lazy days we suggest plopping your camp chair in the water and waving at the kayaks and tubers that pass by. This site is NOT accessible by car.  You will need to hike in down stairs and about an acre to the site from the road.  We can assist you with ATVing your equipment to the site.   Cell service is limited or non-existent at this site- be prepared to go offline and relax!

We loved camping at the Riverfront site. The directions & GPS were clear and we didn't have trouble finding the site (just had to make sure offline maps were downloaded) The site is gorgeous and mostly secluded and has a couple connected trails for a short hike. Unfortunately, we were unable to start a camp fire any nights we were there, as the fire wood provided on site was extremely damp and despite our best efforts would not light. It is extremely peaceful and serene, and I even got to see a Bald Eagle swoop from a tree right in front of our tent, which was pretty incredible. I had my dog with me, and she had an absolute blast. It was nice to be able to let her stay off leash without concern of any issues with nearby sites. Overall we had an amazing time; very happy with our time there.

A gem.
Kara and Mike's spot is so incredibly special. Beautiful landscape, incredibly kind, generous and knowledgeable hosts. This spot holds a piece of my heart to be sure, and we will be back as many times as they'll let us. :) As our 5 year old son says "it's paradise!".

Waterfront beauty!
Our first Hipcamp stay and what an awesome experience! Our waterfront site was beautiful. We enjoyed watching wildlife like geese, frogs, birds of prey and more as we waded in and out of the river throughout the afternoon. We had a fire next to the water and cooked dinner as the sun set and fireflies came out. Even though there are a few houses across the river and a road to nearby homes above the site, the spot felt secluded and quiet being below the road a ways and amongst tall trees and thick, green vegetation. You’ll need to bring what you need as it’s basic tent sites but there was also a lean to with solar lights and charging station, dry fire wood, and a compost toilet which were great extras!

This place was just perfect, it was private and quiet, especially at night, during the day you could hear an occasional lawn mower, boat or vehicle but nothing bothersome. Lots of birds and other wildlife were near, deer, muskrats, and a beaver. Pack light though, as there are steep steps going down and a little bit of a walk to the site. What goes down, must go up!! Lol!!! They also have solar power for your use, as well as some other amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend!! We will be going back!!
