Lavish Country Retreat
Sweet Springs Family Farm is a wonderful place to stay: Spacious and artfully decorated, a big cozy bed, wonderful lavender bath products, a kitchen equipped with everything you need and fresh tomatoes from the garden to compliment your meal. The hosts are very accommodating and the muffins they bring in the morning make you feel very taken care of. The country road out to the farm is beautiful. I highly recommend staying here and meeting this family and all their pets, especially the bottle fed abandoned fawn!

Lavish Country Retreat
We enjoyed our stay. The highlight was probably the swimming hole across the street, which was really nice and peaceful - shallow eddy that was wonderful for our 2.5-yr-old. The animals were a lot of fun. My toddler spent quite a lot of time picking up rotten tomatoes off the ground in the garden and sticking them through the fence for the chickens and pigs. The hosts were very nice, and we felt welcome. The only note I would make is that many things were a little rougher around the edges than we imagined from the ad. It was fine, but was just a bit of an expectation mis-match. All in all it was a wonderful mini vacation!

Lavish Country Retreat
My kids loved this place. I grew up on a farm, so was the perfect easy getaway for my family from the city. Easy drive from Portland.

Lavish Country Retreat
Located approximately two hours south of Portland, and only 20 minutes south of Eugene, Lavish Country Retreat is the ideal location for a getaway from city life. Alyssa and Erik are extremely gracious hosts and made sure our stay was pleasant and care-free.
After arriving we took full advantage of the relaxing ambiance of the cottage and relaxed in front of the wood pellet stove, finalizing the details of our fire tower trip the following day. Once night fell we enjoyed the myriad of stars visible directly above the backyard. The next morning we were treated to an incredible breakfast brought right to our door by Alyssa. After breakfast we went on a meet-and-greet tour of the resident animals: chickens, ducks, and goats! From there we went on a stroll through a peaceful hiking trail in the forest behind the cottage, spotting various spring wildflowers beginning to show their faces. Next was a quick trip to the swimming hole just a short walk away. It’s a bit early for a swim but it was a great spot to relax and hunt for agates. Finally we drove to the nearby lake to enjoy lunch before resuming our long drive to southern Oregon.
Overall it was such a relaxing, laid back and entertaining experience that we can’t wait to head back next time we’re in the area!
Dog owners: the cottage also has its own fenced-in backyard, so your pup(s) can romp without worry. BONUS: Have a high-energy + friendly dog? Boone, the family dog, is super friendly and will gladly help tire your pooch out!
