Our mini Farm is a hidden 5 acres at the bluff of 600 Acres of Powell Butte Nature Park overlooking downtown Portland. Surprising serenity, panoramic views, ancient trees and deep connection to nature create an amazing getaway just minutes from the cities center. The farm includes your host Jesse and her family, plus an menagerie of donkey, horses, sheep dog, farm cat, kune kune pigs, ducks, chickens and wild bunnies. You may encounter a few other guests tucked in a Caravan, Yurt and Cabin also on the land. A food forest in development includes figs, blackberries, nettles, oregon grape and much more. Many sit spots abound under the fairy trees. At the bottom of our driveway you enter the incredible wilds of the Powell Butte Nature Park, home to the cities water supply. As you climb through old growth forest that used to be inhabited by the Grand Rhonde Indians, you will find the top a huge meadowlands and vistas of all three of our Mountains: Mt Hood, Mt St Helens and Mt Adams on a clear day. Your host is a full time Birth Doula, Forest Therapy Guide, Flower Essence Alchemist, Herbalist and Hobby Farmer. Ask her any Q's you like! Visit www.mothertree.farm for a virtual tour! Violet's Chalet Meadow Aframe
The A-frame was a nice comfortable stay and was easy to find from the directions. It's a bit cramped for tall or bigger people, as it is a small, COZY space. But the bed was comfy and the view from the front was lovely overlooking the valley. Saying hi to the goats was a treat!

Beautiful relaxing getaway
The A-Frame was just what we needed a little away time from the hustle and bustle of life, but close enough for a quick get away! The directions in were clear and accurate, the animals were adorable we fed and pet the goats, alpacas, & donkeys! We are definitely looking forward to coming back we want to stay at their other options as well to try them all out just for fun! We didn’t get to try out the outdoor bath so plan to stay a more than 1 night next time. We also came during end of fall and although still beautiful we would love to come during the spring when all the trees have leaves as well! It’s beautiful there.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The whole property feels well taken care of and is truly a little sanctuary on the edge of the city- all of the instructions were clear, as was their continual communication. We were in town for an event on a windy winter night, but felt cozy and safe up on the hillside in the yurt!

Violet's Chalet Meadow Aframe
Cozy Little AFrame
We had a wonderful time in this little A Frame. We didn’t explore the property, and simply enjoyed a night away from everything. The bathroom situation was clean and unique, a little walk from the A Frame, but made for a fun little adventure. It feels a little confusing getting there in the dark, lol, but made the adventure all that much more fun. The small electrical amenities made for a simple, uncomplicated, night away, but the use of lanterns made for a fun change in the norm. I really appreciated the easy check in, short hike to the A Frame, and the feeling of exclusion from the world. The unique sound of crickets, mixed with the distant city hustle and bustle made for an interesting, yet peaceful white noise to fall asleep to.

We would 100% come back!!!
Jesse’s property is sooo cute! The yurt is cozy, warm, and so much more fun than a hotel. The bathhouse was our favorite part, the shower and toilet area were clean despite being outdoors and completely private but you still feel like you’re showering in the middle of the woods which we LOVED! There are a few other A-frames and yurts, but we didn’t hear any of our neighbors. Fridge and pantry area was well stocked. Be sure to come before dark so you can see your way around though! Our only worry was that there was a homeless man hanging out by their driveway staring us down on our way up to the property, but once we passed through the secure metal gate we felt secure. Also if you’re a light sleeper make sure you bring earbuds, you can still hear some of the city sounds and sirens as well as coyotes (?) from the yurt.
