Our family has been farming for over 150 years. We grow, corn soybeans, wheat, lentils and pumpkins along with a large garden (can you tell we love plants!?). Come visit our little piece of paradise.  Learn more about this land: Located just 5 minutes north of the historic and picturesque village of Elora (1.5 hours northwest of Toronto), enjoy a stay in our newly built bunkie. Showcasing magnificent sunrises and sunsets, while looking over 500+ acres of picturesque farmland. Full power offers the convenience of lighting, device charging, heat and A/C, a kettle and a mini-fridge. An outdoor fire pit allows for stargazing at night. Welcome to the country! Our family lives on a 100-acre farm, you'll drive past our residence on your way in, park and have a short 150' walk across the lawn and past our veggie garden to your stay. Looking out from our bunkie you'll be treated with a view of acres and acres of farmland, the next closest neighbours are some cows about a kilometre away. Step into our bunkie and enjoy a night in one of the cozy pillow-top queen beds. Beside The Bluebird Bunkie, you will find a detached bathhouse, which hosts a composting toilet, vanity and private outdoor shower under the trees (vanity and outdoor shower are only in warmer months (roughly end of May to mid-October weather permitting). In the cooler months, water can be accessed by a water hydrant, beside the bunkie. PLEASE NOTE AS OF NOV 29, 2021 WATER WILL BE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF FOR THE WINTER, water will be available in spring 2022. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WATER.  There is a fire pit available for your use and all the necessary items to begin a fire in the pit. Inside there is a small mini-fridge, kettle and french press. Plates, cups and cutlery will be provided which can be washed prior to leaving. While visiting the area take in the sights and sounds of historic Elora (5 minutes away), Fergus (10 minutes) and St. Jacob's (25 minutes), all are unique and wonderful towns to enjoy and explore. We have young children and ask that you call or text with any questions or concerns prior to coming to the house, we in turn will do the same before approaching the bunkie. We ask that you please refrain from inviting friends, etc. to our property while you are here. We also ask that you be mindful and respectful of your surroundings and treat our bunkie and property as you would your own (if not better!). This is a pet-free/smoke-free location. As this is a working farm you may (very occasionally), during your stay enjoy seeing tractors and other farm equipment coming and going, please be sure to give a wave! We are always open to questions about what we are growing on our farm- please don’t hesitate to ask! As the weather gets cooler the outdoor vanity/shower will be closed, water is still available at a water hydrant right beside the bunkie for washing etc. While the water is safe to drink, we still recommend bringing your own drinking water. Located just 8 minutes north of the historic and picturesque village of Elora (1.5 hours northwest of Toronto), enjoy a stay in our bunkie. The Bluebird Bunkie - farm retreat
The most wonderful cabin at Hipcamp
Laura and James are the definition of perfect hosts 🙌🏼 we asked for help for lighting up a fire both times they never hesitated and replied to us within minutes provided wood with no extra charge ! And from the get go woods and the paper for the fire was free anyway ! We felt like we were on a vacation at our own home. Thank you Laura and James see you next time (which will be soon ! ☺️)

Overnight stay just outside Elora
My husband and I stayed here for a wedding anniversary and had everything we need! Beautiful farm property, with an outdoor firepit and complimentary firewood! :) The bunkie slept us both comfortably, and also came with a small mini fridge, and water, coffee and tea. There were also board games and plates and cups if you forget to bring anything. Laura was very responsive and communicated well with us before coming in. The location was perfect as we were spending the weekend in Elora / Fergus and this was only 5-10min north of Elora. Would recommend! Thanks again!

Comfy bunkie in a perfect location!
My friend and I had a fantastic time staying at the Bluebird Bunkie. Laura is a super friendly and welcoming host. She made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and checked in with us regularly. She also gave us great recommendations for things to do in the area - like the Fergus Fall Fair! The bunkie is the perfect spot to stay if you'd like to explore Elora and other nearby conservation areas. 100% recommend!

The Bluebird Bunkie - farm retreat
Cozy and comfy cabin
We had a lovely weekend at the Bluebird Bunkie. The bunkie itself is super comfortable and cozy. It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and Laura was so warm and helpful making sure we had everything we needed. The location is set apart and in a somewhat secluded spot so that it feels private and peaceful. It was such a treat to find this spot a short drive from Elora.
