Located 3hr from Toronto, 1hr from Ottawa, 1hr from Kingston, 20 minutes to the beautiful summer town of Westport and the Rideau Canal.
One of the earliest settled areas of Ontario (just celebrated its 200th anniversary), the area was mineral-rich and mined early on. During the '30s and 40's the area was largely abandoned but saw a resurgence in the late 60's/early '70s with draft dodgers from the US settling in the cheap land close to the US border. Tay Valley is now one of the most progressive townships when it comes to tiny homes and off-grid living.
Located in the Frontenac Arch, this remote slice of wilderness is situated overlooking a beautiful wetland. With no neighbours, you can escape to the silence of the wilderness yet run to the beautiful village of Perth or Westport for supplies in just 20 minutes. Just a short 3-minute hike into the campsite area where there are two tenting spots and a fire pit. There is also an area for a trailer or RV that is less than 25 feet. There is a composting toilet on site. This property allows for that sweet escape you're seeking but a strong cell signal allows you to stay connected to the real world when required.
Parking: There is a driveway that can accommodate up to 3 vehicles or a moderately sized camper trailer.
Boating/Fishing: Little Silver lake is just 3 minutes away and is known for great fishing, you can take your boat/canoe/kayak to the public launch on Little Silver lane.
Swimming: Head to the Westport Sand Lake beach for a fantastic sandy beach you can hang on or go for a swim in the clear water. Just a 17m drive from Maple Lane

You'll have this Hipcamp all to yourself.

Campfires allowed
Firepit. Please do not transport firewood as this spreads invasive insects and disease. There is an unlimited amount of dried deadwood surrounding the property, feel free to bring a saw and cut up any of the wood you find laying around...you honestly don't need to go far to find it!
Toilet available
Composting toilet
Pets allowed
Off leash. Please be aware that there are ticks on the property and to take necessary precautions including check your pet at the end of each day.
Cooking equipment present
Grill over firepit, bbq, cookware, sink or other dishwashing station. Unfortunately the BBQ seems to have broken over the last couple weeks, I will work to replace but unfortunately for now there is no BBQ available. I have a few basic pots and pans hanging from the trees and you’re welcome to try fire cooking. There is a 5’ height adjustable table that you’re also welcome to use. It’s best to keep food organised and sealed off in or around the campsite as the chipmunks can be real bastards for getting into food.

Went with 4 of my friends and had a good time. Very beautiful scenery & hearing the nature around us at night was really cool. Definitely would camp here again!

Great May long weekend stay!
Group trip
Was a great stay! Perfect private nature spot to unwind. A bit of a tricky hike in but only 5 mins and well worth it for the seclusion. Would stay again! :)
