Ottawa Tree House on 100 Acres
What a Gem!
Second time visiting and definitely won't be the last! Arthur's space is a wonderful getaway for anyone wanting to unplug from the city with the comforts of a cozy cabin. Whether it's taking a walk through the land, star gazing, or simply just being in nature, this is the place to do it.

Private Yurt on 100 acres
Arthur's land and yurt is easy to find and is just a short drive from the city for a quick getaway. He also sends out a handy yurt check-in information file before the trip. The yurt is very cozy and the decor is beautiful. The composting toilet is about 30-sec walk up the lane you drive along to the yurt. There's a BBQ or a fire pit to cook your dinner on or you're just a short drive to restaurants in surrounding towns. If you keep the doors closed the mosquitoes don't really get in (but there is a zapper provided), however, other wildlife might. :) We found a family of small snakes inside, so we tried calling Arthur and Olga, but only got their voicemails. We then walked up to their house to chat and they both went to the yurt to try and catch them. Olga also offered for us to come back another night, which was appreciated.

Private Yurt on 100 acres
Great find! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Arthur is a great host! He is very responsive and gave precise directions in a timely manner. In fact, when we arrived it was very dark and we were still able to find the yurt easily. The yurt is on Arthur’s property and is isolated from his main home. The outhouse, outdoor shower and yurt are well-decorated, comfortable and easy to use. One minor issue (and this is a VERY minor issue) is that there were no plates, dish soap and sponge available. We brought our own so this wasn’t a big deal but I thought this was a bit strange since there are some tea cups and utensils available. Overall, I had a great weekend here and I highly recommend booking this spot!🤸🏽‍♀️

Ottawa Tree House on 100 Acres
The Perfect Treehouse Getaway
This place was everything my friends and I wished for, and more! It shows how much thought and intention Arthur put into this space, and to have access to such a cozy, inviting, and fun place is truly something to be experienced! The nature was also beautiful and there is tons of area to get lost in the woods, or even go for a canoe ride! From all the little details in the decor (ex. Alex Grey blankets! - if you know, you know) to the privacy and reliable communication, my friends and I had an incredible trip here and encourage anyone considering to check it out to absolutely do so. Just leave September alone so my crew and I can continue to come back ;)

Ottawa Tree House on 100 Acres
Wonderful Glamping Experience
This treehouse is truly a hidden gem. Our hosts, Arthur and Olga, were kind and communicative, and we could tell that they put so much love and effort into creating this beautiful glamping experience. As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed by the family who showed us around the large property and gave us the freedom to explore. Indoors - As pictured, the treehouse is insulated and fully furnished with kitchenware, linens, a cooler, and a wood stove (brush up on your knowledge on how to start a fire indoors). The pullout couches can sleep up to 4 people, and please do not expect premium mattresses as this is a glamping experience. We slept in our own sleeping bags but the linens provided would suffice. If you need to use the cooler, it is full of reusable ice packs but send the host a note to freeze the packs beforehand. There is a handwashing station and a 5-gallon jug for refills, and due to the off-grid nature of the treehouse, you’ll need to dump the water bowl outside every once in a while. At night, there are dim remote-controlled lights on the ceiling and we also used our lantern. Outdoors - On the patio, there is a couch for lounging while waiting for your food to cook on the propane bbq. You’ll also have a great view of the marsh, where you can take a canoe out to explore (the canoe, lifejackets, and three paddles are included. Two paddles are adult-sized and one is child-sized). We met a small garter snake in the bushes, and even though they are harmless, I would recommend wearing shoes outside because you never know what you may encounter. The compost toilet was just steps away from the treehouse entrance so it was very convenient; just ensure you have a headlamp at night. For showering with the outdoor rainwater shower, I would recommend wearing a swimsuit. The fire pit is a great place to relax after a day of adventuring - you can sit there for a while into the night and stargaze. Points of Interest for trip planning - Carps Custom Creamery nearby was a cherry on top! Arthur also suggested Blakeney Rapids (waterfalls and trails), Pakenham Bridge (swimming and sitting in the falls), Chesire Cat Pub (great food), and Stans’ Putt Putt Land, all of which are local hidden gems. Altogether, this treehouse was the perfect getaway that’s a convenient distance from the city. During Covid, I felt at ease as the treehouse was very clean and the sanitation stations provided were sufficient. There is no wifi but cellphone service is available so you won’t be completely off-grid. I appreciated all the thoughtful touches around the charming treehouse. I would definitely return and recommend Arthur’s property to anyone who is down for an adventure!
