***Helene update 10/2/24: We are very blessed to report that our campsites are unharmed, accessible and with power and water. We did experience about 14 inches of rain and extreme wind causing significant tree damage. While you may notice downed trees while hiking on our 70 acres, disruption to your experience should be minimal. We hope to see you on the mountain for some beautiful autumn leaves! It's our heart when you return home that you feel like you have truly gotten away when you stay with us. We invite you to enjoy one of our two full hookup RV sites which includes 20/30/50 amp service, sewer, and water at each campsite. Our pads are extra wide, level, and extra long complete with a fire pit and picnic table. Sites are located in a grassy field surrounded by forest. Our 70 acre property boasts scenic views, two small ponds with fish to feed, and marked hiking trails. This is a perfect place for star gazing. Due to requests a second site was created in February '22. This is a perfect place for two families to enjoy this acreage all to themselves. Please see photo denoting the location of site 1 and site 2. Each site is booked independently. If you should ever decide that you want to leave this quiet haven, consider an adventure to: NASCAR North Wilkesboro Speedway 18 miles, Wilkesboro (Merelefest, Faithfest) 16 miles, West Jefferson 28 miles, Stone Mountain State Park 24 miles, Boone 43 miles, Tweetsie Railroad 46 miles, Grandfather Mtn 56 miles, Mt. Airy (Mayberry) 53 miles. We have had several 40+ft rigs stay with us with no issue. For those not used to mountain travel or new drivers please know that travel off NC 18 on the state road is a typical two lane paved mountain road with curves, some of which will require you to swing wide, an incline that does not exceed 8% in a couple of places, a short state maintained gapped section of gravel and an occasional low hanging branch. Caution: Wildlife present in the area including bear, bobcat, deer, turkey.

Our favorite quiet retreat
This was our second visit and it was just as perfect as our first stay. The care and attention put into this place is beyond measure. The pad and hookups are top notch and the trails are well maintained. Benchs are sporadically placed along the trails to rest or take in the nature, and we even stumbled upon a homemade water wheel near one of the ponds. It is clear a lot of love and pride are part of the maintenance. The site is perfect if you’re looking for a quiet weekend, and has become one of our favorites.

App camp!
Mathew and Janet were very good hosts and have an incredible RV site. Mathew has meticulously manicured and maintained their property to make it the nicest and easiest full hook up (30/50amp) site I've ever encountered. There is a pond and plenty of hiking trails to enjoy and take in the true beauty of Appalachian living. We were only able to stay a short weekend as we worked the near by Brushy Mt. festival but we will definitely stay again and recommend to other RVers. One slight draw back is the location is 2800 ft elevation and the roads are narrow and windy, if you are a novice at pulling a large trailer or nervous on switchback roads, this may be a little nerve racking driving up there. Also, there is a section of road that is not paved but it's very smooth for a dirt/gravel road and only lasts about 1000 ft. Site is about 22 minutes from downtown N. Wilkesboro. There are only two sites and they are both full hookup and about 100 ft apart with a mowed green lawn in between, perfect for canopy/tent set up, communal cookout, frisbee, outdoor games, etc.... nice for a group/family getaway. 9/10.
