Learn more about this land: Welcome to Hemlock Hill Hideaway - a unique glamping experience while being minutes from Boone city limits!! A perfect place to relax and enjoy the trees! The treehouse is approximately 10'x10'. There is a loft consisting of a brand new foam full-size mattress while facing a clear semi-see-through roof. A futon sits below it. The bathroom consists of a portable toilet and sink in a tent off the treehouse. A shower station sits on the other side of the treehouse. Although there is no plumbing, both have water. (You only need to bring drinking water for yourselves.) There is electricity and WiFi. There is a cooler and an electric kettle available for you to use. Outside of the treehouse, there is a fire pit, a grill, a hammock, and a slide - plenty to do while relaxing in nature! Please bring blankets/sleeping bags and pillows to sleep. Firewood is provided for the fire pit. Although smoking is allowed on the premises, we ask that you do not smoke inside the treehouse. If you decide to smoke, please clean up after yourselves. Checking out is easy! We ask that you throw away your trash & recycles and return the key to the lockbox. We take care of the rest! There is no need to refill the water or take the sheets off of the mattresses. The hideaway is behind our backyard so you may see/hear us from time to time. There may be a cat or a dog running around although we find that they do not go out there as much without us. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask. Quiet beautiful spot near Boone!
With kids
Me and my son had such a great time here! We stayed for three nights and it really started to feel like home. The cabin is really well constructed, The loft bed feels like part of the structure, me (A large adult) and my 7-year-old could be up there with no problem I felt like another adult could have been up there with us. The futon is really comfortable as a bed as well, and there are three different outlets in the space (one accessible to the loft bed) as well as Wi-Fi if you want some modern convenience with your camping. The hosts left a hot water kettle as well as two lanterns (that doubled as Bluetooth speakers!) and a heater which we didn't need but appreciated. Also some matches and fire starters which was incredibly helpful. There is a fire pit as well as a grill outside, both in the same area, the outside is very comfortable (and the slide is really fun even for a grown-up!). I will say when we stayed there there was a very chatty rooster in the neighborhood (not the property owners) which was really cute for the first 5 minutes and then got old, so if you don't want an early morning wake up maybe bring earplugs. This is very much someone's property and if you follow trails you will end up on other people's property, so it isn't really a space for exploring, and there is no nearby running water, but that wasn't really a problem, we brought a few gallons with us and the toilet and shower setup were fine. Hosts were very kind and responsive, definitely recommend!

Great spot, great host, freeze warn
The ammenities offered, were great in theory. The water for the sink/toilet water reservoirs were frozen the entire time. The sleeping structure that was said to have a heater 'just in case' was far outmatched by the unsealed floors and opening on the roof, that allowed for all the heat to escape. I additionally brought another heater. With both heaters running, it got to a warm 38 degrees inside the structure. This would be a great location for spring, summer, fall. But anything lower than 50 degrees for your adventure will be miserable. The host seemed wonderful, I just imagine they have not tried their own retreat when the temperatures have dropped. Small tweaks will get it where it needs to be. -Seal the structures- each floor board had a 1/8 inch space which allowed for all the cold air to come up from under the structure. -Seal the areas near the roof, so the heat used created inside actually stays inside. -reservoir warmers to ensure the water for the ammenities does not freeze. Again, this is an amazing spot. Just needs some fine tuning to ensure it is a safe and warm stay for the adventure.

Hemlock Hill Hideaway is a great, private little spot to get away for a few days. It is nestled quietly in the shade of the trees. The amenities are nice, and the beds slept well.

Cool space! Greta was accommodating, communicative and provided a clean space for our family. The treehouse is awesome for a couple or even a family with older kids. We didn't use the shower tent but there is another utilitent with a toilet and pumpfoot sink, which is a nice accomodation. The location feels far away, in a good way, yet is close to all things Boone; both adventurous and the town/city features.

mother/daughter easy camping
With pets
Even better than I expected. Originally it was the slide and the bathroom that sold me. Having a place to wash your hands while camping is huge. It was more comfortable and easier than tent camping, especially in early April when nights are cold. My daughter loved the slide. We would definitely go back.
