Beautiful and secluded this property has 2 conjoined yurts, 2 fire pits,, a composting toilet. Yurt is currently being powered by generator for lights and electricity. located just a short drive from hunter mountain with so many amazing places to hike and local towns Saugerties and Woodstock. We are in a wooded area; wildlife and bugs are possible. This is a camping experience please have basic camping skills. We are completely off grid and are subject to lack of electricity on cloudy days. Two wood stoves inside the yurt for colder days. No hot water. Being subject to nature, we do have back up lighting and water/ camping bags. Running water is shut off after first freeze due to lines freezing. water brought in 5 gallon jugs for camping bags. We can loose water in summer months when dry. Please come with basic camping experience and ability to adapt to nature. Two designated sleeping areas; loft with a queen size bed, downstairs bedroom with full size bed. Smaller yurt is often converted to a sleeping area; we have extra sleeping 'moon mats' and modular seating.Just outside the yurt is a huge fire pit with a picnic table, and logs that can be used as seats around the pit. During the days the birds and other wild life are plentiful and beautiful to watch. At night time the sky is amazing the lack of outside artificial light illuminates the stars so beautifully. The area is full of amazing restaurants, beautiful mountain biking and hiking trails, and in the winter the ski slopes are just a short drive away.

My group of 8 had an absolutely awesome time!! The only thing we felt was lacking was kitchen supplies - there were no kitchen knives or big pots to cook for our group easily so we went out and bought a few things to make it easier for ourselves. The woodstoves kept us toasty and comfortable and we all said we would go back!

The place itself is really cute and easy to access. You get a lot of privacy. Two connected yurts are spacious for 10 of us to sleep. The small one is very cozy with candles lighted up. It just the train is a bit loud when it passed by and it even ran at 3am in the morning. The host is very responsive on all my text. However, I was informed last minute (like 1 hour before check in) that the solar panel is not working and running water smells terrible so we can’t use electricity and running water. The running water smells like coming out directly from the sewer so can’t be used at all. There were jugs of water and camping bags available but each jug of water weighs 45 pounds, it was indeed not convenient to lift them up and fill the water to camping bags ourselves or to even just wash hand. There’s no dumpster available and the host told me they don’t know any place where we can get rid of the trash bags. So if you have trash bags and are planning to go hike after check-out, you may need to leave the trash in your car for a long time.

Wonderful!!
Wonderful relaxing weekend at Nomadic Retreat!! Despite high winds and chilly nights we were perfectly comfortable. The yurt is so spacious, every pillow and bed is comfy, and the amenities are endless. Cooking on the black stone was such a fun experience too. Family of 4, kids 6 and 7 yo, everyone loved our time here, highly recommend!!

A New Years Yurt!
Thank you Janet, for starting the fire before we arrived. Due to the cloudy weather, we were limited to candle light (no electricity from solar panels), but our stay became even more romantic than imagined. The photo’s don’t due justice for the size and quality of the yurt… lots of amenities & great style. The yurt is located in a perfect spot for the town of Sagurties & Woodstock adventures.
