This former hunting cabin is on a 90-acre property that we are fixing up. It is surrounded by hundreds of acres of wild land, and involves a hike in on logging trails. Eventually we hope to conserve the land in perpetuity. The land was logged about 25 years ago and has regrown quite a bit. There are beautiful large maple, cherry, pine, and butternut trees, as well as young growth and wildflowers and diverse and abundant fungi. Our land is adjacent to the Finger Lakes Land Trust's King Preserve, so you will be camping in an area with 300 acres of forest and trails. It is also convenient to a diner, gas station, pizza/bar, a playground, fishing stream, and 2 ice cream stores (all walkable from the trailhead). Learn more about this land: This is an extremely rustic hunting cabin about a 15 - 30 minute (depending on hiker) hike up from the small village of Richford, NY. The hike is along old logging roads in the forest, but it's all uphill on the way in. We do not allow vehicle access to guests, but we have a vehicle we can use to deliver potable water (make sure to check with us to make sure we can provide extra water on the dates you need). There is a wood stove (for heat) and propane stove (for cooking). There is a triple decker bunk bed, you need to bring your own sleeping pad and sleeping bag. We have added a picnic table and small fire pit. There is an outhouse and hand washing station (seasonal). Fall leaf peeping is lovely, and as the leaves fall off, there are really nice views of the valley. You will have total privacy here! This is an extremely rustic hunting cabin about a 15 - 30 minute (depending on hiker) hike up from the small village of Richford, NY. Forest Cabin Getaway
Joan and Leo were excellent, communicative, and super super helpful during our entire time there. The cabin was wonderful and on acres of private property so felt free to let loose. Highly highly recommend!

Forest Cabin Getaway
Secluded weekend getaway
We had a very nice stay at the Village-Farmhouse, which is a secluded rustic cabin that used to be a hunting lodge, equipped with basic amenities including a hand washing station and hand sanitizer. The propane four-top stove was perfect for meals we made and easy to use. Joan and Leo were very accommodating and the site was well maintained. Like it says in the listing the site is about a 10-15 minute hike uphill from parking spot. That being said Joan and Leo met us at the parking spot and drove our cooler and other heavy gear to the site so we didn't have to lug everything up. Their property is large and has opportunity for hiking and they provide detailed maps. Trails are not blazed but we had no trouble finding our way around, their property is also adjacent to a wildlife reserve, very beautiful! The site was only a 20 minute drive to Ithaca. It was a beautiful, secluded stay and Joan and Leo were easy to reach and communicative the entire time. We had a fantastic visit.
