Ridgetop views evoke stillness and quiet to enjoy the abundant nature, from lyre birds, black cockatoos, wallabies, wombats, goannas as well as many different bird species depending on the season. October/November is flush with flannel flowers and other wild flowers thanks to bushfires and floods. Whilst the property is 100 acres, we also border Yengo State Forrest so if you're experienced hikers you can tramp until your hearts content without needing permission to cross private properties. The black summer bushfire regrowth is dense and difficult to travers. so I have cut in a loop walk to a rock ledge lookout (see pics) and there is also a 3km return walk to dry creek bed, boardered by pancake rock platforms and beautiful old trees. The access roads are dirt tracks which you can ride your bicycle but being on a ridge there is a steep climb back up. But no trailbikes allowed. Ideal for those who wish to immerse themselves in pristine nature while being only 1.5 hrs from Newcastle or Wahroonga (start of M1) There are 2 camping pads so if you are a group you can spread out but I want it to be private for each group I host, so even if you are only 2 people there won't be any other campers, hence the price is positioned to reflect this. We live simply in a Yurt on solar and rain water, apart from us, you will be the only campers so you are able to enjoy the quiet all to yourselves. (See pic 4 to see distance yurt is from camping pad). Have a 4 month old Border Collie Cross and training her to be well socialised around other dogs. If you are looking for a party, this is not the place for you. It's the place for stargazers and nature lovers. In the evenings, you won't hear us nor my neighbours so it's only fair that my neighbours don't hear you. No loud music allowed, being a ridge the noise travels and it scares away the wildlife. We're 15mins on dirt tracks from Wollombi village. 2WD vehicle needs high clearance and dry tracks, so check with me first. 4WD and AWD preferable. Dogs love roaming around off leash, if yours is good with recall, as there's no fencing. Children under 5yrs no charge. You may use our composting loo or bring your own camping loo. Our loo is about 100m walk from camping pad. (see pic 5 and 6) Please be aware only firepit/cooking fire is allowed from 1st October to 31st March. Firepit provided (see pic 7 ) or you can bring your own. Open bonfires allowed from 1st April to 30th Sept, as per state rules. Regardless of season all fires are Bushfire Rating Dependant. Cut firewood to fit firepit can be purchased, please let me know in advance. Alternatively you can roam around and collect what has fallen on the ground. There are 2 camping pads so if you are a group you can spread out but I want it to be private for each group I host, so even if you are only 2 people there won't be any other campers, hence the price is positioned to reflect this. $30 per person per night, minimum 4 people. The campsite is flat and the view is beautiful! The well-marked bushwalk was great and the kids loved the rope swing. Mel was a wonderful, welcoming host and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay on her peaceful property.

Would highly recommend staying here. Beautiful views and a great site all to yourselves. The host was lovely and her pup Noosh was too cute. Recommend to anyone looking to have a fun experience not too far from Sydney.

We were so excited to get to Mel's property for our 3 day stay and were definitely not disappointed! It's a beautiful position with an awesome view right from your camp site. If your after a relaxing and peaceful getaway you will love it. My wife, myself, 6yr old son and dog had a such a great time made even better with such an accommodating host in Mel. Mel's property is beautiful and she makes you feel welcome and at home on arrival. We will definitely be back again 😊

Beautiful views, lovely host
We loved camping on Mel’s property and would love to come back some day! It was lovely waking up to the birds singing and the beautiful view each morning over the hills. Mel was so kind and let us borrow some extra blankets one night as we forgot to pack one of ours. Overall a lovely weekend and our dog loved it too! Thank you Mel 😊

A very peaceful stay with a wonderful view. It was also great to go for a short walk and gaze at an alternate view from a rock. Friends loved it with one saying ‘best campsite they’ve ever been too’. We’ll be back, thanks Mel!
