PLEASE BE SURE TO READ ALL OF OUR BIO ITS LONG BUT YOU'LL GET ALL THE INFORMATION YOU NEED! We are also available for small Weddings, Birthdays and other functions. Speak to us about using us for a working space for corporate or business trips, collaborations and more......... Watton Airstrip is a stunning property, nestled on the banks of the Macquarie River. Featuring an amazing rustic cabin, nine riverside campsites, along with paddock and bush sites, all 4WD accessible and two equally stunning 2WD accessible sites. You’ll share our spaces with kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas, deer, platypus and more. Enjoy some optional extras, including Tammie's home made bread, farm fresh, free range eggs, or one of our range of grazing platters, home made jams or hot chocolate kits. Or pamper yourself with a Crystal reiki session, or tarot reading. The 2WD accessible sites feature spectacular views to the right, towards Mt Panorama and Mt Horrible and towards Mt Canobolas to the left. Lie back in your swag at night and let the star struck, velvety sky envelope you, or make a booking at the nearby Bathurst Observatory to see the stars up close. Each campsite offers its own unique features for you to enjoy and a hand crafted pit toilet is accessible to those camped along the river bank. Fish or swim in the river, ride your bikes, or set up camp and then head off on an adventure to the Goldfields at Ophir, or History Hill at Hill End via the Bridle Track. Better still, book into a pub crawl with Damo so you can lie back and enjoy the ride. There are plenty of opportunities for 4WDing and bushwalking in the local area. Fires are allowed (fire restrictions permitting). Wood can be collected from fallen wood around the property, or bring your own if you prefer. Pets are welcome for a one off fee per animal. We do ask that pets are supervised at all times and that they do not interfere with farm animals or local wildlife.

Large 2WD/ Caravan Hillside Site
The Hill
Seriously, this is the most amazing site!!! It’s like sitting one top of the world… not a soul in site (with the exception of a few roo’s and the friendly sheep) and sweeping views of the 360 degree valleys below… oh, the the sunsets; yowser - on a good day you will feel totally blessed. And if the tranquil surrounds are not enough, your hosts are of the highest caliber. Damo kindly offered us a tour of the property so we could check out the river before our departure (he is super proud of his efforts in making this property a memorable experience for all who visit) and he has every right to do so. We absolutely loved our overnight stay and look forward to returning to soak it all in again.

Riverview Cabin 4WD Only
We had a wonderful stay in this cabin by the river. Perfect way to unwind with a few mates around the fire. The Cabin is very neat and tidy and had most things we needed. The fireplace inside kept it warm at night. It was thoughtful of the owners to leave some freshly baked bread and eggs for our arrival, they were much appreciated. The track down was easy in a 4wd and ends in a beautiful open area by the river. Would definitely stay there again next time I am in the Bathurst area.

The Deep Spot 4WD Only
Absolute Ripper Spot!
This is one of the best Hipcamps around. Beautiful, sunny, green grass sites on the banks of the gorgeous Macquarie River. You will not be dissapointed with this one. Here are our stand out points *Sites are well apart from each other *It's dog friendly *There are horses that occasionlly wander through the camp sites, even the odd Alpaca, *Big Cod in the river *Long drop loo, if you don't have a portable *4WD access only *And lovely hosts Damien and Tammy.
