Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Established in 1938 The Printery operated as a printing factory and housed printing presses and machinery up to the 60's before it was divided into flats and an Airbnb rental with a five star review average. Quirky and unusual The Printery offers something a little different to the usual local accomodation offerings.Stay in a quirky historical property. The Printery is a small ex printing workshop conversion from 1938. You have sole access to a King bedroom with your own entry. Communal areas of this property may be shared with up to 2 other guests staying in an outdoor cabin depending on occupancy. The spacious private bedroom contains a comfy king size bed and drawer storage for clothes. There is an outdoor fire pit, dining deck area and bbq, courtyard, lounge room, ‘indoor camp’ kitchen, bathroom with bath/shower/toilet and a second half bathroom with outside toilet, as well as laundry facilities. The lounge room contains three couches, coffee table and TV. The kitchen has a microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, tea/coffee making facilities. There is a beautiful bushland dam area at the end of the street, Manly Dam, with walks and mountain bike riding trails. The property is close to Manly and public transport to Sydney CBD. The site is an old printing factory where the local newspaper The Manly Daily was printed in the early 1940’s. Nb. Guests must be cat friendly and open to sharing the space with our resident cat ‘house manager’ Ninja. All rubbish must be removed and placed in bins on the driveway. There is a blue bin for paper, Yellow for bottles and cans, red for general waste. Please put the bins out if staying on a Wednesday night for collection on Thursday morning. Our rate is low to take into account the fact that communal areas might be shared with up to 2 other guests only, staying in an outside cabin. We expect guests to leave the property as they found it. A cleaning fee is not charged to keep rates low, however this means that guests are expected to leave the property clean and tidy before they leave, with the kitchen tidied up after each use and all dishes placed in the dishwasher and towels placed in the laundry. A cleaner is employed to launder linens and disinfect surfaces only. Please note that this property is not suitable for smokers or vapers inside or outside. It is not suitable for children or pets due to an elderly resident cat.
