Amazing location and adventure
I loved camping at Stuarts place! The water was so clear and crisp (we could see the trout). We enjoyed going for a swim in the river in the morning sun (ice bath fans would love it) and going to sleep with the sounds of the river. Clear skies at night to see the stars (no background light pollution).
One of our favourite things to do was "river walking" (bush walking in or along the river)- really amazing scenery around every bend. Heard some dingos, but did not see too much wildlife (I think still recovering from busg fires).
Great place to get away.
Stuart was there to meet us and showed us down, and checking back in on us the next day to check how we were. Was good to know he was around in case something went wrong as no phone signal.
Practcial tips- Make sure you talk to Stuart to get clear directions as there are a few different tracks that may put you in the wrong direction (and very very limited phone coverage when you are getting there), and go through Goulburn. We went through Mittagong and then on the Wombeyan caves road which was a bit rough (although you may want to do that if you want an adventure). Also, when we went, definitely only suitable for 4WD (no trailers), and only in dry weather. Easy-medium 4WD track to get to location from the top of the ridge. To get through the national park was bumpy but graded roads

Firstly, Stuart was lovely and met us at the gate after being lost for 4 hours and took us to site. Unfortunately this is the only positive we have for this property!!
The add says Mittagong and it is 1.5hours away from mittagong, the directions are extremely unclear and whilst the add says 4wd to get to river please do not attempted to even enter the property at all without a 4wd. We traveling in two groups both with proper 4wd and camper trailers, camper trailers of any size are not suitable for this property, one of us got stuck and the both did a lot of damage trying to enter and exit the property.
One the tracks to site there was a tractor broken down in the middle of the road and and we had to navigate around that and the area we were meant to stay was so overgrown it was impossible to even set up a table to sit outside.
Unfortunately we had to leave first thing the morning after we arrived when we were meant to stay 4 nights.

Incredible spot down on the creek, nice big area for plenty of people and a big fire. River was beautiful and perfect for swimming. Stuart was a great host and super helpful.

Awesome views from the top of the mountain, will be even better once the junk is cleaned up from the area around the hut. If wet, 100% need 4WD to get there. Stuart is a wonderful host with great local knowledge and was very responsive! Must be self contained to camp here.
Recommend for campers without caravans and who are self contained (own water/toilet/power).
Looking forward to going again in dry weather to be able to get down to the river!

Well worth the descent down to the Gulf site. Nice big open camp area to spread out if you have a large group, the river is close by and we caught some trout. Was good to have a yarn with Stuart, he is also very knowledgeable of the surrounding 4wd trails.
