The Conscious Crop is a working market garden and regenerative agriculture farm just outside Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains of New south Wales. We collect organic waste from town, make our own compost and grow vegetables and flowers for the local community. Seven miles from the town of Jindabyne and close to Kosciuszko National Park and Thredbo and Perisher ski resorts, the region is perfect for an active get away.Site one is located high on the property with a view across the mountains towards the town and lake Jindabyne. There is potable water nearby and a fire pit with some firewood.

Epic views and epic host
Spent a wonderful 9 nights at Conscious Crop. Rod is an utter gent and his property is beautiful. His passion and enthusiasm for ‘real food’ and sustainable organic regeneration of the land is intoxicating and the work he’s done there is in plain view. Speaking of - that view!! It’s worth the price alone. Do note that while the site pretty much flat you do need about 15mm of lift in your levelling ramps to level off properly and the site would be tricky to put a medium size van in prime position for the view with a 2WD in all but the driest conditions. The track up and the site are probably best negotiated with a 4WD unless you have the lightest of rigs. Also the water is potable but not mains pressure so it’s a tank fill affair only, and you’ll need approx 40m of hose to reach from the tap the van in situ. The property has 18mm hoses so make sure you have a large tap-to-12mm fitting to plug your hose in if you have the standard campsite grade water hookup. The site has a good amount of shade morning and evening but gets plenty of high sun to charge solar panels. The property is far enough from the road that you’re not disturbed at all by traffic and the site is almost completely hidden from the road so felt secure there. Struggling to fault it - absolutely awesome place - defo my future go-to spot in the Jindy area.

Great spot, great host!
A fantastic spot, just the right distance out of town. We spotted roos, an echidna, heaps of birds and even a deer. Perfect location for a family or a couple of people wanting a base while exploring the high country, best fire pit we’ve seen so far! A great host! Make sure you make time for a chat with Rodney! An awesome spot that’s only going to get better once all his hard work and planting comes together. Thanks mate!

So beautifully scenic with an amazing view. We did cop a lot of wind the nights we stayed which was realistically the only downfall but that’s just the weather. It was really peaceful nonetheless and would definitely come back.
