We are just 7 minutes from the village of Bulahdelah, on the Lower Mid North Coast, a favourite stop over for travellers heading north or south. The Back Road Van is a classic 1970’s Viscount caravan that sits on a 7 acre property in the beautiful Markwell Valley, nestled between the Bulahdelah State Forest and rolling green pastures. (Note - from Bulahdelah township we are 5kms of sealed road, then 2kms of unsealed gravel road, the road is suitable for all vehicles.) We are 40 minutes to beautiful beaches like Hawks Nest, Seal Rocks, Boomerang and Blueys Beach. Just 1 hour from Newcastle and 3 hours from Sydney, so it’s an ideal getaway for couples. The caravan sits privately in the front paddock of our property. It is separate from the main house and is covered by a large shelter that includes an open seating area, with a small gas BBQ provided. There is also an outdoor bar table that’s perfect to enjoy a coffee or cocktail. The van is a 22 foot 1978 Viscount Supreme decorated to reflect the retro 70s style. It features a ‘cosy’ double bed, with linen provided, a lounge area plus a small galley kitchen, that includes a toaster, kettle, bar fridge, microwave and a 2 burner electric stove top. There are also added extras provided such as a selection of teas, coffee with plunger, milk and local free range eggs. The van does not have a plumbed water supply, but plenty of fresh water is provided. Just behind the van you have your own separate bathroom, with shower, toilet and wash basin. Towels are supplied. Your pet is welcome if it is well behaved and on a leash. When booking - PLEASE ensure you tick the appropriate box regarding pets so we know if you are bringing one. You are welcome to enjoy the entire property which includes a veggie garden, dam and an arbour to sit and enjoy the view. There is also a plunge pool next to the main house that you are most welcome to use during the warmer months, and a fire pit is available during the cooler months. The Back Road Van sits on a 7 acre property nestled between the Bulahdelah State Forest and rolling green pastures. The Back Road Van
We loved our glamping with Pete and Margot. Everything was beautifully presented. Everything that we needed was there. Very clean and quiet spot to getaway from Sydney’s chaos. We will definitely be coming back to here!

By far the best accommodation we have ever been to! The hospitality was amazing and so well thought out. From having a spare toothbrush, shower cap, alongside complimentary bread, milk and eggs, The Van was very well equipped for everything you would need for a stay. We only stayed for one night, but could’ve easily stayed for more and we will definitely be coming back!

Vantastic
Not proud of the the pun in the title. I am however chuffed with myself for booking a stay at the Back Road Van! Pete was an absolutely lovely bloke, and although we didn’t meet Margot you could tell from how she fitted out the camper she’s definitely a bloody legend! It was so well stocked with everything you could need and more. And even with its proximity to the house it felt very private. Amenities 10/10. Wish we’d booked for longer!

A wonderful stay! The space inside and out of the van was very clean, cosy and comfortable. Loved all the little touches, and appreciated the egg, bread and choccies in the fridge. Great amenities. Only stayed the one night but would loved to have stayed longer. Very welcoming and friendly hosts 😊

Luxurious Camping
What a luxurious camping, we loved everything about this place. Pete and Margot have gone above and beyond to make this very special. Everything is provided, you just need to bring your own food if you plan to cook and just sit back and relax. We spent whole night sitting around bonfire talking, drinking wine and star gazing. What a perfect getaway! Thank you Pete & Margot, we will definitely be back!
