Best glamping: Finalist
Named one of the best Hipcamps to visit in 2023.
A beautiful, off grid, riverside campground with amazing swimming hole on private property. This private campground is located in North West NSW. 50 minutes from Tamworth. Conveniently located 20 minutes outside the pretty town of Manilla and right on the river banks of the Namoi River. Also 20 minutes from beautiful Warrabah National Park. The campground is tucked away in a little valley overlooking an idyllic stretch of windy river with an amazing swimming hole, sandy beach, tranquil rapids and a beautiful, mesmerising, majestic rock. We have four primative campsites suited to all types of large and small, self sufficient campers in RV's, caravans, camp trailers, vans and tents. All sites are unique and positioned to enhance space and privacy as well as proximity and views of the river. They all showcase the varying, natural beauty and characteristics of the landscape. You can also book our amazing, award winning glamping tent. We are not a party campsite. Our little slice of paradise is for peace and relaxation. We also need to respect and encourage the presence and abundance of birds and animals and continue to ensure it is a peaceful and quiet home for them. You can enjoy your music just as long as other campsites and the local wildlife can't hear it. Manilla, only 20 minutes away has two dump points and water refill stations as well as a good number of shops to cater to all your needs during your stay. We are not in a high traffic area so you may get to enjoy having the place all to yourself. Our campsites have good access for all types of camp set ups and are not impacted by flooding. Nor do they become boggy in wet weather due to the high sand content in our soil. You could be sitting on the warm sandy bank overlooking the river and being captivated by the surrounding beauty and the magnificence of the swimming hole. This secret little piece of paradise has been untouched for 40 years and is home to an abundance of birdlife. Birds include the colourful Rainbow bee eaters, Kingfishers, Superb Fairy Wrens, Eastern Yellow Robins, Red Browed Finch and many more. A magical place that will delight your senses and make you feel relaxed and at peace. BYO camp toilet and leave no trace. Fish in the river; cod, cat, golden perch and carp. Well behaved dogs on leash and supervised at all times are welcome. If you would like to enquire about having the place to yourselves send me a message. ACCESS CONDITIONS: To help you decide if your set up is suitable you can google Riverside Escape Camping Manilla and find 2 videos on 23 and 25 May 2022 taken of me driving up and down the track to the campsites in my old Ford Courier that is NOT 4x4. There are lots of other useful videos to get a good sense of our campsite. You will also get a sense of the distance between each site. We recognise the Kamilaroi / Gomeroi people as the traditional custodians of this land.

Private & Sheltered by the River
Slice of Paradise
Everyone goes camping for different reasons. For me personally my priorities are a creek large enough to lay in, loads of wildlife to connect with and privacy from other campers. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for a chat but don’t want to feel surrounded. Everyone has different ideas of distance but mine is about 100 meters. I go camping for the peace and quiet and not to listen to other people’s music playing in the background all day and night. I am not concerned about showers and toilets as I am completely self sufficient. I have had some great farm stays and met some really nice hosts all thanks to hip camp which Im very grateful for. This would have to be my favourite thus far. In honesty I’d prefer to give it 1 star and tell you the host was terrible to keep it a hidden secret. Unfortunately I can’t, the 18 acres are stunning, if you enjoy photography and natural creeks you’ll be in heaven. Caroline the host is what I consider to be a rare beauty. She adores her block and all the wildlife that inhabit it. Her love and passion for her little slice of paradise shine through brightly. If you’re into big parties, loud music, bomb fires, all night parties please do us all a favour and don’t come here, it’s definitely not a place for you!!!! Town is 20km in one direction and the local national Park 20km in the other. I found the property, location, National Park and Caroline herself to all absolutely beautiful. Can’t recommend this location enough 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Great private spot, well maintained and great for a family or couple wanting their own quiet spot by the river. Excellent communication from the host and location great for access to National parks and a local town. 👍

Best camping trip
It might have been my favourite one yet! The beautiful waterholes were perfect for a swim, and the walks around the area were absolutely stunning. The surroundings were so peaceful and serene, it really felt like a hidden gem. Caroline was very helpful with directions on getting to the property, Mike on site was very welcoming, helpful and accommodating while we were staying there definitely on the top of my list to go back too.
