Tuross River Camping
Absolutely incredible Hipcamp
An absolutely beautiful part of the world and you have it all to yourself. Not having to share this unspoilt piece of paradise with any other campers makes this a very special place indeed! I think Nerrigundah is an extraordinary Hipcamp. I spent a lot of time in the river taking advantage of mother nature’s spa. Don’t skimp on the sunscreen. Bring a decent first aid kit (clumsy me nearly stacked it getting into the river). Don’t plan on doing trips to the beach or anywhere else, because once you’re there you won’t want to leave.
I took a FF camper (nearly 1900kgs) and it is a steep drive in and out. Easy to do in dry weather. I imagine it’d be a challenge getting out after a bit of rain. It’s heartening to see that this area has regenerated so well. Thank you for opening up your property to visitors and I’m certain I’ll return.

Fantastic getaway once again! Started planning a return trip before the weekend was over. The river water was great for swimming in and the camp kitchen such a pleasure to have. Can't recommend highly enough!

Tuross River Camping
We wanted a place that had good amenities, great view, swimming, open fire, some “just in case it pours rain” shelter, and to have it all to ourselves. That seems to be a rare combination, but if it’s the dream spot you’re after, then Gundah is the place. We spent 4 days with our pup, and didn’t want to leave. We will definitely return. Some practical tips and feedback:
1. The last 20 mins or so of driving in is all dirt track, some parts are quite narrow. Expect to be a little daunted but the views across the valley are spectacular and the destination worth it. We had a 4WD and wouldn’t ever try it with a 2WD unless it has good clearance and it’s dry.
2. The toilet/shower block - the pump is clearly marked as is the gas hot water cover you need to remove. But we didn’t quite work out how to turn the water on up there. We went without which was fine for us and there was a cold shower down behind the kitchen area. It was probably just us being useless, but just know that’s a separate step and which tap needs turning on up there.
All in all this is one of my favourite places to camp. There has clearly been much love, sweat and hard work put into bringing a once fire ravaged part of the world back to life. It’s a little bit of paradise.

Ticks all the right boxes
We loved our time camping at Tuross River - very peaceful and private with lovely views of the surrounding hills and down to the river. It was a fabulous spot for swimming – the water is crystal clear. The amenities are top notch, clean and functional and there were plenty of mown grass areas to camp.
