Morinokoe is a 5 acre 'one planet' lifestyle vision, set in the peaceful, secure, rural residential community of Woombah, bordering the Bundjalung National Park and just 5 minutes drive from famous 'Woody Head' camp ground and Iluka's surf beaches. For paddling and fishing, it's a few hundred metres from a public jetty to the Clarence River and just a few minutes drive to the Esk river (a unique waterway that tracks through the national park). The land itself is 2/3 natural forest, with fruit trees and permaculture inspired garden design and cleared areas with space for parking, playing and camping. The (two room) caravan is newly renovated with a large outdoor patio area for dining and cooking on your campfire. There is no power supplied to the caravan, but lighting is provided by solar lights around the site. Access to power is provided at the main house. It's really nice balance between convenience, security (friendly neighbourhood) and accessibility and the peace and quiet of being deep in the forest (where you can walk or ride your bike straight into the national park). Relax around the firepit in the evenings. There is access to a toilet, shower and drinking water supply. There is a Jamie Oliver grill for cooking at the table, and a fire pit on hand as well. There are basic cooking implements, cutlery and crockery as well as a large green water tank for washing and drinking. There is a portable toilet now installed outside the caravan for convenience. The outside shower area is at the main house, and offers some, but not complete privacy. We have rubbish and composting facilities. It consists of a renovated, two room covered caravan with a large front patio, with a sliding door to a covered back deck that looks out to a large, grassy area before opening out to the forest (that extends out to the Bundjalung wilderness area). There's an undercover camping toilet easily accessible from the main bedroom and a (town water) hose beside the deck for wash-up and cool showers. It's an older caravan (not lockable) and the queen bed is a little short due to the windowsill over the head space (see photo) - so please keep this in mind if you are exceptionally tall! There are two fire pits - with plenty of firewood to collect in the area and a covered area stocked with dry kindling for your convenience. While we encourage people to experience it as 'non electric' retreat - we can provide a power cord from the main house for charging devices etc. if required. It is overall an experience in nature - with sounds of birds all day, and rustles in the night (echidnas spotted recently!), as well as mosquitos (net provided) and leaches in the forest in wet weather. There are basic cooking implements, cutlery and crockery and a dish rack for washing in the outside area. We have rubbish, recycling and composting facilities.  Well behaved pets on leashes welcome.

Retro Forest Caravan
Far from peaceful
My partner and I booked 2 nights to stay in this caravan, but had to cancel our second night due to the state it was in. On arrival, I needed to do a clean before we could bring in our bags as there was dust, dead bugs, and rat droppings all over the floor. It’s listed as being “newly renovated”, but there’s nothing renovated about this caravan. Most of the windows had holes in the screens allowing for pests to enter, the mosquito net provided even had holes in it, and there were no working locks on the doors. There was no fridge provided, which was not clear in the description. We were able to use some space in the inside fridge once a shelf was cleared for us, but would recommend bringing an esky. When we went to go to bed, we had found more rat droppings on the bed/pillow. The host was not at the location but her son was. We let him know we needed fresh linen and we’re provided one sheet and one pillow case. When we flagged the issue with the rat droppings and cleanliness, the host seemed somewhat unapologetic claiming that there were no signs of a rat or issues when she inspected it a week and a half prior and that we would find that Hipcamp was not like other booking platforms. Regardless of the platform, if you’re paying $120 a night you should be able to feel comfortable in a clean and safe space which this place was not. Luckily Hipcamp provided us a refund for this stay. Would not recommend unless you are fine with paying for the bare minimum.

Retro Forest Caravan
Caravan adventure
Anja's caravan is best if you have some camping equipment like cooking facilities & the like. Own pillows & linen is a must too. Caravan itself was dry & cosy even during some wild weather! Plenty of wildlife around & Anja is great company also!
