Located 19 km due east of the famous historical village of Tenterfield the working, cattle breeding, property "Mindoo" has recently opened its gates to campers. Framed by the rugged border range National Parks "Mindoo" is 1100 acres of rolling green hills dissected by the pure, cascading, waters of the Cataract River which provide a number of private riverside campsites. Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others. For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done. For those interested in exploring the park trails via horseback we can also provide secure lodgings for your horses, with quality hay available for purchase. Be as adventurous or as restfull as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hilking, Horse riding, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo" There is approximately 4km gravel road to get to the property. Mobile reception is patchy (telstra) you may need to get to the top of a hill for reception. Very little or no reception for other networks. Our aim is for your visit to be private so are spacing our sites . From Easter will no longer have undesignated river sites, all river sites will be designated and spaced a part. If you have a large group the Park One & the bend are large spaces. As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites. We have recently levelled the camping area at Rockpool Junction and The Falls, the grass is slowly returning. (August 2024) Send us a message if you have any questions.

Someone should shoot a film at this property. Just stunning. We are regular hip campers. I would recommend you are in a 4WD and know how to use it. Off road vans only I suggest. We just got into our spot. Prue and Bruce are helpful and friendly. They even had our dog in one of their pens so we could explore national parks nearby. Would I go again? YES! My husband is still talking about it.

The Bend
We loved camping at The Bend. It was secluded, tranquil and relaxing. Not far from Tenterfield or Boonoo Boonoo NP for those who enjoy a good hike!

This is an elite spot. Must do. Close to town but remote, rolling hills, private creek sites, toilet immaculate, tracks to explore the property.

The Park
Special place indeed!!
Absolutely beautiful place to spend a weekend even if it was cold & wet. The creek was awesome. We live on acreage so it's hard to find a spot that's not more gum trees like we have at home but The Park at Mindoo is superb. No internet or TV coverage so if you are looking for a place to disconnect from technology, this is it. We'll definitely be back, probably when it's warmer, but we'll be coming back. Thanks Prue!!

Rockpool - Junction
This is a beautiful property with several different campsites to choose from all very secluded. The hosts are lovely and accomodating and ensured we were comfortable and dry during our stay. Toilet block was very clean and pleasant. Property has lots of different tracks to explore and wildlife and birds a plenty! Town is super close but it feels like you’re a miles away. Highly recommend staying here! Thank you Prue and Bruce
