A 67-acre bush property surrounded by forest, with several peaceful camping sites for self-contained campers. The area is abundant with flora and fauna, and is thankfully recovering well after the bushfires of December 2019.
Your host is Loretta Parsley, a locally known elder and custodian of the Walbunja country and Yuin people, and she will share her love of the area and local history with you. She is also an artist and offers Aboriginal Art Classes and Boomerang Design Workshops - book one during your stay for an enriching cultural experience.
The nearest beach to the property is Depot Beach, a 10-minute drive away, a beautiful cove with some lovely nearby bush and coast walks through the Murramarang National Park. The nearest river swimming is Shallow Crossing, with crystal clear waters, also just 10 minutes away. There are also some well-established bushwalks on the property if you aren't wanting to venture out.
Clyde River Berry Farm is on the way to Shallow Crossing, a great day out for the kids, where you can pick your own berries (when in season) and have their berry ice cream. Plus the famous East Lynne Pie Shop is not far away - try their apple pies!
Batemans Bay is also just a 15-minute drive south, the closest large township for supplies, cafes, restaurants and the beautiful Clyde River entrance. This is a natural open bush site on a 67-acre bush property surrounded by forest. We accept up to 3 bookings at a time maximum, and you are welcome to choose the most suitable spot for you when you arrive. There is plenty of space to find a private spot, away from other campers.
There are several firepits available, and firewood can be provided cut and split (add it to your order).
Guests must have their own camping toilet and leave no trace as no amenities are provided. There is an empty shelter shed if required in wet weather. BYO drinking water.
Access is on a dirt road, about 4km off the Princess Highway. Better suited for 4WD access although high clearance 2WD have accessed in the past.
Whilst we may allow pets on a case-by-case basis we have strict rules around this due to the very sensitive environment here. If you would like to bring your pet, this MUST be discussed with us BEFORE booking. Small pets only, and you must agree to pick up after them - their waste is a danger to the natural environment. The land is unfenced, and we have an abundance of wildlife that is still recovering from the bushfires, so pets must be kept under control at all times and not disturb the local wildlife.
Middle Earth is a peaceful and secluded space that offers time to enjoy the quiet away from busy life's distractions. Whilst here, why not book into one of our cultural experiences such as our Art Classes or Boomerang Workshops, where we can also share with you local stories and history.
