Nestled right up against the escarpment this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2024, all the trails on the property have been massively upgraded and are passable with a 2WD car. If you're towing or it's wet we still recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles.

Lower terrace
A bit of luxury - the site was suitable for my 2WD van and has a toilet and power. We could only stay for one night, but if we were there longer would definitely have explored some of the trails on the property. Ian was very welcoming and we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks!

Gorgeous - kick back & to explore
Gorgeous location, feels very private and remote even though it’s only 15minutes off the highway. Having a toilet, potable water and power made the upper terrace very comfortable. Was great to kick back and enjoy the camp fire and the stars. The later check out time (midday) meant we could sleep in and still have time for a relaxed camp breakfast, for which Ian provided delicious home grown mushrooms. He was a great host, friendly, generous and extremely helpful while also l also us to enjoy our camp in private. I recommend leaving time to walk the tracks around the mountainside as it is beautiful and a pretty easy hike. The walks a mapped and sign posted but even better, Lana was an excellent four-legged guide who made us always sure we were heading in the right direction. Definitely want to come back in summer to enjoy the cascades. Something to consider: Our Ute is only 2WD and we were struggling to tow our camper trailer to the upper terrace. Ian kindly pulled us up with his tractor. 😆🙏 Ian said the road to the upper terrace was to be graded the following week so this is probably irrelevant by the time I’m writing this. The Ute on it’s own would have been fine. A 4WD could have towed the camper. If you’re not sure of your gear maybe check with Ian or camp at the lower terrace.

Cedar Loggers Camp
This was a great little get away. Very private and leafy with a few good trails to walk. Dog friendly and you can see the ocean and lake Illawarra from the site and up on the hill.

Secluded Place in the Forest
Ian's place is pretty special, he is very friendly and also helpful. It's rare you get electricity and toilet in such an isolated, and secluded place. His land is up on the hills, so it was a bit challenging for us to reach there with a 19.6 ft caravan, through the forest and narrow roads, but if you are not experienced, I would suggest to go with a smaller van :). Once you are there, you are in the middle of the forest, and at night, it's pure black & stars, beautiful. Eeven though it is isolated, in reality you are 15 mins away from a shop and anything you need. Recommended for sure.

Will be back!
Ian was a great host. Really great to have a chat with him and stay in this place. Really beautiful spot with great views. Definitely leave some time for a bit of (steep) bushwalking to see the unique area on this property. Had an awesome time.
