Private sites
100% of recent Hipcampers say the sites felt private.
Nestled right up against the escarpment this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2024, all the trails on the property have been massively upgraded and are passable with a 2WD car. If you're towing or it's wet we still recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles.

Tree Fern Terrace
Peaceful
Had a lovely 1 night stay at Tree Fern Terrace. It was very secluded and peaceful. Just the sound of the forest. Lana (the dog) is just the best. She’s so happy and loved and stayed with me the whole time I was there. She’s just gorgeous. Chemical toilet was great and kept neat and tidy. The additional of the boards was handy as it gave a more level surface although the site is really flat anyway. Plenty of wood to gather for the fire. I had a little walk down to the waterfall but didn’t explore the whole property although Ian mentioned it’s a 20min ish loop. Got a couple of leaches from there but just keep your trousers tucked into your sock and with boots, you’ll be fine. The site itself is mainly dirt so didn’t get any from there. As per the notes of the sight, you need AWD / some clearance to get in and out comfortably but Ian also offered to get you there with his car / tractor if required. There’s a few other site being created in the future and you can tell the current ones have been well thought out by all the details provided. Look forward to staying there again soon.

Hidden Terrace
A lovely stay!
Loved Mellows Ridge! Peaceful setting with great views. Power water and chemical toilet were great. Ian is a friendly helpful host and Lana is too!… the labradoodle! She and my dog had fun! We walked to the little waterfall and creek and then up to the escarpment. Some lovely birds and even a waratah. Would recommend this site! We had an earth camper. The road in is tarred but steep!

Hidden Terrace
Highly recommend this campsite! Ian is lovely and takes great care of his land. We stayed in the Hidden Terrace and loved being able to look out onto beautiful bushland. There are great walks to do and our tour guide, Lana the dog, was very knowledgable about the area. We will be back :)

Cedar Loggers Camp - very private
Unique, private and beautiful
We loved our stay at Ian’s place, the spot he set us up in was private, spacious, had plenty of potable water, and a chemical toilet. The environment was beautiful and unique, and there was a nice walk around the property to lookouts, creeks and a waterfall. If you’re lucky, you might even get to spend time with Lana, who was a friendly and well behaved dog, guiding us round the property. Cannot recommend this enough, well worth it!

Hidden Terrace
This was an incredible campsite - Ian has a really special property that feels very secluded even though still close to shops and town, and the beach etc. The view was exceptional camping within the trees. We really appreciated the potable water and the camp toilet was great. Ian was great at answering queries and really attentive to any potential issues, including suggesting avoiding the campsite during some gusty weather. Highly recommend going for a walk to the waterfall and the only regret was we only booked for one night. We will certainly be back!

Cedar Loggers Camp - very private
Our group had an amazing time at Ian's property. Well protected by the large surrounding tree's it was a great shady place to call home for a few nights. Ian went to great lengths to check in and make sure we had everything we needed, we'll definitely be back again.
