Hodge Lodge Native Camp
Basically a large piece of grassy land, so plenty of options to setup your van. Easy to locate property using GPS. Just off the highway. I wasn’t bothered by the minimal noise intrusion from nightly traffic on the highway or the occasional passing train. Firepits available. Stayed 2 nights. Left the van and went exploring the area

Hodge Lodge Powered Camp
Convenient off the highway, can hear some highway sounds. We actually liked hearing and seeing the occasional train roll through in the night. Peter was a wonderful host, when we arrived, he showed up to lead us to our site before we even called.

Hodge Lodge Native Camp
Great Spot!
We stayed at Hodge Lodge Native Camp both on our way to the Gold Coast on holidays and on our way home to Sydney. The camp is in a very convenient location just off the M1 and around 350km north of Sydney / 500km south of the Gold Coast (mid way between Taree and Port Macquarie). Lots of flat grassy spots to choose from, and we really enjoyed Peter and Nadine’s $25 offer of a firepit and a very generous amount of firewood to keep ourselves warm on a very chilly night! There is traffic noise from the highway, and the North Coast Railway also runs adjacent to the property, so there was a bit of noise from the couple of trains transiting through the night. We didn’t find this overly bothersome inside our caravan though and had a very restful night’s sleep on both stays. Think we’ve found our ‘go to’ spot whenever we are travelling to Queensland!

Hodge Lodge Native Camp
Great o/n stay.
Excellent stopover. We would always drop into Rosie’s cafe (just down the road from Hodge Lodge now closed ) for breakfast. It is easy to get to, simple to set up (we are in MH) and very spacious and relaxing. Peter met us at gate and recommended a camp spot from the many options. We have Fiat MH so easy access and departure, should rain come and make ground soggy, We purchased firewood. (It came with a fire pit) we couldn’t use it all even though we had fire burning for hours, so Peter agreed to ‘store’ the remainder for our return visit in a couple of weeks. Yes, we will stay here, as often as possible, in our trips north and south.
