Our stunning 2000 acre working Cattle property offers this beautiful private camping retreat right on the bank of the Severn River in the Ashford area. Our camping sites are located far enough from each other so that we can offer complete privacy during your stay where you will have no other campers around you for literally kilometers. You can see more of our property by searching 'River Camping Ashford Dan Proud'. Our part of the Severn River offers many large fishing holes with excellent fishing for Murray Cod, Yellow Belly and Catfish, we request that you only catch and release please. The river is also great for kayaking, swimming and boating and has very large areas of small rapids along river. Relax around the fire pit in the evenings and enjoy our beautiful sunsets and star gazing, in the mornings you can enjoy the sounds of the beautiful bird song. The area is abundant with wildlife, including native birds, platypus and koalas. We are also located only 10kms from Pindari Dam which is another great spot for all water based activities. We are 10kms from Pindari Adventure Park which is a great spot to take kids. We are 25kms from Macintyre Falls and the Kwiambal National Parks which has a number of beautiful walks you can enjoy. Ben Falls, Goat Rock, Reedy Creek Winery and Zappers Winery are all close by as well. Campers must stay within the designated camping area whilst on the property. We have provided a fire pit for your enjoyment and can arrange firewood to be available upon request. Campers must be fully self sufficient and take all waste with them on departure.

Second time here and everything was as beautiful as last time. The serenity is awesome. Caught and released Cod, saw platypus and just relaxed to the max. An absolutely awesome stay. Can’t wait to come back.

Kayaking Dream
Susannah is so beautiful and easy going. We loved her property. The camp was easy to find and get too with a fire pit. Swimming was spectacular. Kayaking is a must. We saw platypus and our dogs loved it. Cows everywhere!! So cool

Solitude, clean clear water, many platypus sitings. Caught a few cod. Great stay for us and we plan doing it again. Just to be clear, if cod, platypus and a beautiful location don’t excite you, it’s not for you.

Absolute serenity
2nd time around at this location, even better the 2nd time around. So much to see and explore. Excellent grounds, pristine river, completely private, amazing host and an all round great time. Fishing is great too. Will be a 3rd visit to this spot no doubt.

Platypus lovers delight!!
Susannah is the perfect host and her love of nature is evident from the moment you meet her. Her land is tranquil and the camp spots are stunningly beautiful. We had the resident platypus visit and delight us. Kayaking was superb and many varieties of bird are easy to spot as they happily go about their day. Quaint town of Ashford is also worth visiting.. we had the great fortune of meeting the local ambulance folk as they were grabbing a coffee and they filled us in on where to camp and what to see. You cannot beat local knowledge. Susannah happened to also be at the shop so by the time we set up camp on her property we felt like family. If you are looking at a totally relaxing beautiful spot this is it. Please respect her land and leave it as you find it for the next lucky camper. Thank you Susannah from Sylvia Andrea snd the two Robs!! I hope we meet again
