Dungog Shire is in the Hunter Region of NSW and is renowned for its forests, mountains and picturesque river villages. Go for a scenic drive through historical villages, you will find beautiful picnic areas or take a walk in the World Heritage listed Barrington Tops National Park. Dungog is bordered in the north by the Barrington Tops plateau, which is part of the Great Dividing Range. The Shire consists predominantly of very rugged to hilly country which becomes less rugged from north to south.

Location to town, peace a and quietness, and value for money.

Site was fine. Rocked up pretty late due to a flat. Messaged Hip Camp when it happened. No response. Arriving in the dark it was a bit tricky to find the unlabelled site, and the rock hard ground made nailing tent pegs in a no go.

Had the whole place to my self , nice brand new toilet/ shower block and plenty of room to park no need to unhook , couple of tips parked in site 4 close to shower block lucky I had a extra long water hose quite a long way from concrete pad where the power box was also levelling blocks a must didn’t notice any semi level areas , saying all that the price is great and it is super quite here , would definitely stay here again.

Great facilities, a new toilet and shower block, location is very close to town.

Overall it was a good experience but the toilet and shower was only cleaned once in the eight days we were there. I think the Shiwground owners should look at flatting the booking sites

Dungog Showground
Good clean facilities with hot showers and plenty of paper towels and toilet paper. Ten minutes walk into town. Place was empty so we got a level site but most sites are quite steep.
