Dungog Shire is in the Hunter Region of NSW and is renowned for its forests, mountains and picturesque river villages. Go for a scenic drive through historical villages, you will find beautiful picnic areas or take a walk in the World Heritage listed Barrington Tops National Park. Dungog is bordered in the north by the Barrington Tops plateau, which is part of the Great Dividing Range. The Shire consists predominantly of very rugged to hilly country which becomes less rugged from north to south.

This was the perfect spot for us to park the caravan and enjoy doing things around Dungog. Would highly recommend.

Location, location, location
Great spot, close to town with clean toilets and hot shower. Would stay here again when visiting Dungog.

The location is ideal to explore the area. Old toilet block near site 14 is usable, no lights. Orientation of site makes the slope extreme, be prepared for high step into caravan. If orientation was changed 90 degrees would be much better.

Camping at Dungog
Sites are rocky with hunks of concrete and rocks. Need to check your site before you set up. Shower and toilets very clean

Good location and facilities
Nice spot, generally pretty quiet. Toilet and shower facilities are fine with good hot showers. The area at sites 11, 12 and 13 have a decent amount of space , but not clearly marked on the ground, and doesn't make a lot of sense in terms of the banked ground. However was fine if you consider your neighbours and set out appropriately. Good central location, can walk to town, and ride to the mountain bike tracks at the Common.
