Riverside Camp Site
The Never Never River
Just to state, we booked last minute and it was raining heavily. The site itself was unfortunately overgrown and though we thought it was beautiful and they were such a great family to meet on the day, we decided to venture further down the road and found a rocky spot near the river. There are free camping sites all around but they are not nearly advertised, we literally found a spot off a bridge a passer by told us about. Camped no more than 6 steps from the river. A must do, is take a dip in the never never river, it is so nice. Loved Bellingen, it is absolutely beautiful, please please please keep it clean in this town, it’s absolutely gorgeous to venture into. I’m sure with the weather being fine and had the booking been in advance it would have been the perfect place to camp. Minus the leaches or ticks, didn’t see a tick, did have two leaches on me within 2 minutes. I would expect a certain number of bugs in a rainforest obviously. Don’t be a coward, let life in, it was a hilarious moment finding the leach with my hubby, I got to squirm and scream and laugh till I almost pee’d while he tried to flick it off me.

Riverside Camp Site
Beautiful secluded river camp spot with amazing swimming to end a day of hiking along waterfall way. Lovely welcoming host and responsive throughout booking. 4WD required if it’s been wet to get out as on a hill and slippery - in the dry 2WD friendly.
