Located just one hour from Sydney, our property features 19 acres of pure serenity with two dams and one large enough to kayak on (kayaks supplied). The back of the property is perfect for camping and suitable for a small to medium caravan/camper. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks available to paddle on. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Aqua Pool Trail in the National Park is just gorgeous. If you wish to try and catch some yabbies from the dams the only allowable and fun way is by a long stick and sausage. Hooks, fishing lines and traps are not allowed as we have people, dogs and horses swimming in the dams. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their shower/toilet set up. We do have two drop pit toilets available and each campsite has a pit fire provided. We are getting low on firewood so you will need to bring some along with you. There is access to drinking water. Our property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small caravans and camper trailers. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history. Mittagong and Bowral have great wineries with restaurant/bistro. Pets are welcome. There's a range of different bushwalking trails in the region, including Starlights trail, a scenic bushwalk suited to experienced hikers, which forms part the Greater Blue Mountains trail network between Mittagong and Katoomba. You'll be just one hour from Sydney yet feel like you're a world away, with the Nattai National Park at your doorstep.  Our 19 acre property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small to medium size caravans, RV’s and camper trailers. Pitch your tent or park your van around either of the two dams and enjoy the view while you keep toasty around the fire pit. We have two drop pit toilets available as well as potable water. You'll still need to bring your own shower. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks to go for a paddle. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River where you can have a picnic and go for a swim in the beautiful aqua pools. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history.  Pets are welcome on our property.

A great spot. Private and toliets very high standard. The dam for kayaks and the little creek walk was a very special bonus! Thanks for having us!

Best getaway!
Had an absolutely wonderful time at Kim’s place. Location is fantastic - an hour from Sydney. The campsite is super cute, has an area to make a fire and also table and chairs. The damn was perfect for a dip and kayak to get away from the heat. Really appreciated all of Kim’s help. She was lovely, and gave great advice for things to do in the area. I went for a short walk to aqua swimming hole which might be the best swimming hole of all time. P.s my puppy loved it! Thanks so much Kim!

The Secret Getaway - Buxton
The Buxton campsite was excellent - the campsites are spaced out nicely and they have great amenities (fire pits, toilets, games, kayaks etc.) We had a wonderful time and would recommend staying to others. Kim is a delightful host and was very helpful too - thanks Kim!

The Secret Getaway - Buxton
Loved the place and the water (dam) spots nearby. Kim was a lovely host and had the place set-up well with good instructions. Only about 1.5 hour away from Sydney (inner west) it was a great trip away from the city. Plenty to do like kayaking and having a stroll around. Would love to come back again.
