Named one of the best Hipcamps to visit in 2024.
Located just one hour from Sydney, our property features 19 acres of pure serenity with two dams and one large enough to kayak on (kayaks supplied). The back of the property is perfect for camping and suitable for a small to medium caravan/camper. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks available to paddle on. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Aqua Pool Trail in the National Park is just gorgeous. If you wish to try and catch some yabbies from the dams the only allowable and fun way is by a long stick and sausage. Hooks, fishing lines and traps are not allowed as we have people, dogs and horses swimming in the dams. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their shower/toilet set up. We do have two drop pit toilets available and each campsite has a pit fire provided. We are getting low on firewood so you will need to bring some along with you. There is access to drinking water. Our property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small caravans and camper trailers. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history. Mittagong and Bowral have great wineries with restaurant/bistro. Pets are welcome. There's a range of different bushwalking trails in the region, including Starlights trail, a scenic bushwalk suited to experienced hikers, which forms part the Greater Blue Mountains trail network between Mittagong and Katoomba. You'll be just one hour from Sydney yet feel like you're a world away, with the Nattai National Park at your doorstep. Pitch your tent or park your van around either of the two dams and enjoy the view while you keep toasty around the firepit.  There is a walking track on the property you can follow or go for a 20 minute bush walk down to Little River for a picnic and swim. The main house is 3 minutes away so plenty of privacy.  Good news! We now have a toilet available, as well as drinking water and rubbish facilities on site. You'll still need to bring your own shower. Kayaks are available as well. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks to paddle on.  Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. Loved this spot. Lots of things to do with the kids like walks, swimming holes, kayaking and a playground. Hosts were super friendly and even let the kids use some of their farm toys! We'll be back.

Cousins getaway
This was my kids first real camping experience. I was so keen for it to be an enjoyable one, which is was and so more, thanks to this site and its hosts. It ticked all the boxes for our group, great fire pit, site by a water hole, kayaks, toilet, dog friendly, close do Sydney.. The bush walk off the property was a great bonus to this site, We spent hours at the beautiful water pools the walk leads to. Kim and Darren were so helpful and friendly, went over and beyond, but you also wouldn't know they were there unless needed. Perfect hosts. Thanks, hope to be back!
