Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Burrill Banks is a 35 acre hobby farm 5 km north of Alectown approximately an hour south of Dubbo on the Newell Highway. We are surrounded by large cropping and sheep farms and have 37 pet sheep 2 dogs and a horse. Burrill Banks is on Burrill Creek which runs down from Harvey’s Ranges to the east and Goobang National Park. The creek however is dry most of the year. The camping area is about 7 acres and has open and treed areas and is on the south side of Burril Creek'. The site can accomodate 3-5 caravans The Alectown area is historically a farming and gold mining area with mine shafts from the 1800’s dotted across the area. Wander down Burril Creek which is beside the camping area , you never know your luck! 10 kms south away on the Newell Highway is the infamous Dish- The Parkes Radio Telescope with a visitors centre. North of Burrill Banks is 10 km south of Peak Hill where you can visit the old open cut gold mine. The area will accommodate 4-5 caravans in several sites and you can set up where you want. There are generally 3 areas that can be used. Please see the map the areas are highlighted in green. The yellow lines are the access tracks from the camping area entrance gate to the sites. The blue lines are the creek and creek channel.

Burrill Creek Camping
Convenient peaceful bush setting
We absolutely loved our overnight stay in our caravan at Burrell Creek Camping just a short drive from Parkes. So convenient and easy with access just of the Newell Highway tucked away in a small valley in a beautiful bush setting. Easy to follow instructions to the large campground area where you choose your perfect spot to relax and enjoy the sunset. Tony & Lorraine were very friendly and popped down to check we were ok and all settled in, gave our lovable Jack Russell Archie a Pat and left us to enjoy our time. Thanks Tony & Lorraine for sharing a piece of your beautiful farm with us. We look forward to our future stays at Burrell Creek Camping when we head up the Newell from Victoria.

Burrill Creek Camping
A great quiet farm like spot to camp. Very tranquil, no highwasy noise at all. Just like visiting a friends farm with sheep in nearby paddock and a shady spot amongst the trees.
