BEFORE YOU BOOK - PLEASE MAKE SURE THIS PROPERTY IS RIGHT FOR YOU
1. OUR SITE - We have deliberately positioned our camp as "beautiful but basic" for several good reasons. While we can support all forms of camping, the camp is best suited to experienced, confident or adventurous campers with swags, tents, rooftops, light camping trailers and small popup caravans.
We will progressively upgrade some basic amenities, but please understand that we do not provide electricity, flushing toilets, a bitumen road, or refrigeration. We understand this is not everyone's preferred outdoor experience, so please feel free to message us in advance if you need friendly advice on alternative options in the local region.
2. OUR ACCESS - Our access track is perfectly fine for all vehicles in dry conditions. Some sections of the track will e challenging for large motorhomes, caravans, heavy camping trailers and 2WD vehicles (especially front-wheel-drive), after periods of heavy or prolonged rain. We have a last minute refund policy that caters for these types of vehicles when the track becomes genuinely problematic. Please message us in advance for advice if you are concerned.
3. OUR TOILETS - This camp is located in a beautiful, but sensitive, part of the Bateman's Bay Marine Park. Our camp intentionally uses a fully contained, mobile, composting toilet system that ensures all waste is captured, relocated and disposed of in a way that is safe for the environment and the local oyster economy; while also enabling facilities to be positioned in locations that are convenient for campers. This compromise provides a functional and safe solution, albeit not as aesthetically pleasing to all campers.
If you are unsure what to expect from a composting toilet please google a few videos before booking. Composting toilets are almost odourless if users sprinkle a handful of sawdust after their event. If you think the facility smells more than it should, please take a community-minded approach by throwing in extra sawdust on behalf of others who may have missed the opportunity. If a toilet need furthers attention, please take the reasonable and fair approach of mentioning it to the host at the time, and before you review your experiences. You should expect a timely and caring response at our camp, if the opportunity is provided.
