Located on the stunning Tumut River, where cool groves of black wattle line the riverbank, offering shade, privacy, and comfort. Here you have clear Snowy River water at your doorstep. It's so fresh we drink it! Each camping site is by the river, prime position for fishing, canoeing, and swimming. Based on availability, you are welcome to choose your spot on arrival. All options are grassed and level. You will have access to a pit toilet, otherwise, please BYO facilities. Small campfires are welcome in the fire pits provided, or BYO firepit (permitting there are no restrictions in place at the time). Firewood can be purchased at the time of booking. We're pet-friendly, so you're welcome to bring your four-legged friends along! Please note, however, that we are a working farm and as such farm activities are going on, and we have resident animals, so please keep your pets under control at all times. Also, please ensure kids are supervised at all times, particularly around the river. Lifejackets are recommended. During your time here, visit the local farm gates in Tumut, Batlow, Tumbarumba, and Adelong for their delicious high-country produce. There are also some beautiful swimming spots and walks to discover in the region, as well as good facilities in town, including the local swimming pool and shopping centre. Enjoy a local brew and bite to eat at the Tumut brewery. Bahwidgee is just 3km from the Tumut town centre - so close you could ride in, or even walk.

Me and my wife Just spent last weekend out on Wayne’s property was absolutely stunning river was abit high no luck with the fish but had an amazing relaxing time campsite with the river right at your feet what more could you need the owner Wayne is cool be shore to have a chat if you won’t to know about the area cheers gav & bron 🙌🏽

Awesome camp
Wayne was very friendly and welcoming. Camp sites are nicely spaced on the river’s edge. Lovely to listen to the Corellas, the platypus in front of you, and trying some fishing (Tumut running a bit fast this time of year). So close to town if you need it. Is definitely on our list to revisit!

Awesome spot on the river. 5 mins from town, but feels like you're miles away from anything. Nice fella running the property.

Camping with Children
Thank you so much to Wayne for allowing us to camp on his property. It was amazing. Perfect location and open space for the children to play. Well maintained! We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this Hipcamp.

We will be back 🩷 Such a pristine and beautiful place to stay. We enjoyed the crystal clear river with its resident platypus and we even saw a large trout swimming amongst the rocks. Even had a few swims.... a little icy but I didn't want to regret not jumping in 🙂 Wayne is a lovely host, attentive while still giving us space and privacy to unwind and soak up thus amazing place.
