The homestead was moved on to this land by a truck and trailer in 1939, and reassembled and put back together by 1941. We run beef cattle, meat goats and grow small crops.

Peaceful, Grassy Campsites
Our stay at Avondale was perfect - the owners were friendly and made sure we were well looked after. The nice flat camp areas are grassy and well maintained, lots of firewood supplied, and a clean pit toilet nearby. Beautiful river frontage and great for swimming. It was very peaceful.

Lovely and quiet. Great hosts. Great location if you wanted to go to the shops for something. Only thing I would suggest is making a path down to the river from all the campsites. Bit of a pain having to drive down to the "beach" to get in the water. Regardless of that we will definitely go back there.
