This off grid homestead has 2.91 acres of lush grassland. Hipcampers will enjoy the incredible, unobstructed view of Taos Mountain, and the 360 views of the surrounding foothills. Land is quiet and calm, and only 2 miles from historic Taos Plaza. Owners of land live on property. Off grid means that... Composting toilet system, no modern showers, we have solar shower bags for rinsing off. No power available at site. Hipcampers are welcome to use our shared rustic outdoor kitchen. Property accessible by field road, so privacy is optimal! High clearance and/or 4 wheel drive necessary Car campers will be provided with a site close to the shared outdoor kitchen. Tent campers will have to park and walk in, about 200 feet with their itemsFlat site with space for a car, camper or truck to park and pitch a tent. Coyotes and shooting stars are a common sight. Spectacular view of Taos Mountain and the surrounding foothills. Fresh, cold water available from our well.

Thank you Nyna and Machei!
I enjoyed my time camping on Nyna and Machai’s land! There was a great level spot to pitch my tent, which gave me access to a clean compost toilet and a cute outdoor kitchen (that I was too busy to use). It’s about a 45 min walk to town but it’s an easy walk to do/ remember. I think the best part about this property was that the host, Nyna, was so kind and friendly! (And I’m sure Machai is too, I just didn’t run into him). As someone who also lives off grid at home, it was so nice to have the chance to chat and swap stories about our unconventional ways of life. I wish we’d had more time to chat. If I’m ever back in Taos, I would definitely camp here again!

Nyna and Machei are wonderful hosts and we so enjoyed visiting with them! They welcomed us upon our arrival, sharing about the land upon which they live and their efforts to rejuvenate it ecologically. The access road requires a high clearance vehicle and accommodations are simple but it’s what we were looking for. Enjoy the views of the mountains, the meadowlarks, and being away from it all on their off-the-grid parcel.
