SnugLife Heated Riverfront Campsite
Nice host but site was misleading
I want to start by saying the male host was very nice, once we finally met him. He educated us on the area and provided us with extra blankets since we flew in from another state & weren’t able to bring them with us. We appreciated that! Also let me start by saying, we go camping often. So this isn’t new to us. On the flip side… Check in for the site was 2pm. We showed up at 5. A wagon was set to be available with blankets inside it. We could not find the wagon or blankets. We weren’t able to find the path to the site right away. I tried many times to reach out to Jody to get assistance, but couldn’t get through. Once we finally found the path on the backside of their house, we headed to the “glamping” site. The journey down to the site was pretty. After several minutes, we arrived to a run down & trashed site. The trash can was overflowing & there was garbage everywhere. I quickly realized the photos in the listing were from many years ago as everything had weathered quite a bit over time. Aside from the trash everywhere, the first thing we noticed was the top air mattress was flat & a manual pump was in the corner of the tent. The floor of the tent was COVERED in charcoal (I think the last campers had a fire inside & didn’t clean up). There was not a lantern & the toilet was full of feces & no toilet paper. Eventually the host came down & cleaned up. He told us to inflate the mattress again cuz there were no holes. It was flat again by 12am. I don’t recommend this site.

SnugLife Heated Riverfront Campsite
Great spot, but hard to get to
The campsite itself was great and we loved that it was right on the river. However, the 1/4 mile walk down to the site was treacherous. The path is in terrible shape and made it very difficult to bring stuff into the site and back out to the car. The tent was covered in mildew, as another reviewer pointed out, but the worst part was that one of the air mattresses had a leak and we woke up laying directly on the bed frame. The wood burning stove didn’t work and we couldn’t get a fire going because of lack of airflow. There were pretty solar string lights hung all around the site but it was disappointing that none of them worked. The fire pit is also falling apart, but still functional. Having some extra supplies there did come in handy and to have a dog-run to leash the dog onto was a life saver. Overall, a great spot, but it was just too difficult to try again.

Relaxation by the River
The campsite was amazing. Enjoyed listening to the River next to the site. There is a good downhill 1/4 mile hike to site but Jody provided wheelbarrow and wagon for hauling gear. Definitely want to travel light and only bring bear necessities. Will definitely go again especially during mountain laurel bloom season. They were all over the woods

Great place to stay. Host(s) were very kind and helpful upon arrival. Looks exactly like the pictures. Definitely pack light like it says, the walk is a little steep. Loved staying there! Quiet little getaway.

A lovely campsite
I thought the river front camp site I stayed at was so lovely, I could hear the river as I slept and had a great nights sleep! Its quiet, secluded and not too far from the car, but far enough to feel like you are out in pure nature, a lovely .25 mile trail walk. I got a chance to meet Keith and his daughter, really kind people, and very accommodating. Thank you so much!
